Hello, I finished Destiny 1 a few days ago and now I decided to hop onto Destiny 2. Is it still worth buying all of the DLCs? Is the Game playable as a Solo player?
(So far I only have played the New light quest and explored a bit.)

If it's on sale & you're gonna put time in, buy it & enjoy it for what it is. Don't pay anything like full price, & don't use the portal - it's just a mobile hamster wheel of old content to soak up your time & enjoyment

If you create a post, the population of people to join is super thin because people won’t join if they’re not gonna get rewards. You’d have to join posts of other people at higher levels. Mics are almost never needed barring the raids. It’s a tough thing for anybody here to call objectively though. I personally think the new player experience wouldn’t be good. Had I not been in it for years already, I likely wouldn’t have lasted now. (I’m older and lazier now too tho so 🤷🏻♂️.) The legacy DLCs look like they’re all individually on sale so you can play through the campaigns and unlock a bunch of stuff for cheap. The problem is that the loot from the legacy stuff, while still useable, doesn’t mesh well with score modifiers of new content. With the seasonal content model, lots of storylines were temporary and no longer exist. I don’t think any of them had much implication in the main DLC storyline so it might not be noticeable in though. The new year of prophecy stuff can probably wait until you see a sale for it. All you get is a campaign and a raid. The loot pool for edge of fate is completely negligible. All the good weapons and armor seem to be coming from the free to play stuff.

2 답변작성자: MythosPraxis 10/20/2025 4:27:39 AM10+ year series veteran here. Hate to say it, but you missed the boat. It was, if you were there when it was happening. It’s toast now though. Most of the content isn’t even in the game anymore. You’ll be on a massive treadmill if you start now— and most of the aspirational content you’ll need a pretty serious and seasoned team to achieve. Which is fine? But the problem you’re going to encounter is that the people who would normally run that with you have either a.) retired from the game, or b.) aren’t going to teach new players that they don’t know already. Pickup teams aren’t really a thing, and especially not for the new endgame activities like the newer raids. They’re just too demanding. If you try, be ready to spend a lot of time on runs that DNF. Accepting those caveats, be prepared to spend a lot of time on YouTube as well, to be literate in -blam!- the game’s going to ask you to do. Hope you don’t mind being patronized by professional YouTubers. For me— I’d say unless you have a serious crew playing right now, it’s not worth it. There’s plenty of other good stuff. If you get in now, it’s a gamble for your effort, that the game will recover. And I think there’s a serious possibility that this time it might not. We are in really really dire straights. If you’re going to jump in now, do so with the idea that you might go down with the ship. That’s the mindset of the people still playing presently.

There is some good old content, but the state of the game at the moment is not worth getting into, best thing is try free to play and go from there FoL is up soon good things may drop and as far as I know it’s free.

Depends on who you ask. If you are enjoying it, wait for previous expansions to go on a crazy sale and just grab the latest one till then (aka Edge of Fate and Renegades) I grabbed everything but Edge of Fate on sale in the Microsoft Store on PC for 95% off in my country, wouldn’t recommend paying full price. Though it gives you a bunch of content to go through outside of the portal but might seem disjointed without following the story in the right order. Though if it gets confusing ask one of the Destiny 2 communities out there. Plenty of helpful Destiny 2 communities out there that will help you with your questions still and run content if you look.

작성자: ResidentRecon89 10/20/2025 1:50:46 AMI wouldn’t touch D2 if I were you. The New Player Experience sucks a$$. You’ll be lost as all hell. Edit: if you want to play a sequel to Destiny, play Destiny Rising on mobile or on MuMuPlayer or BlueStacks.

작성자: BOOMBOXCOLLOSUSS 10/19/2025 7:42:29 PMIF you play the campaigns and subsequent quests first. They may allow you to hop around willy nilly, but it won't make a lick of sense if you don't follow the timeline first. The onboarding is atrocious, convoluted and unfocused, like no other game I've ever seen.

OP: It depends…on what you’re looking to achieve. There is, I believe, a F2P route you could explore…and a great seasonal event - FotL starting at next reset (Tue), where you can earn lots of good gear, and have some fun, too. That should give you a good idea as to whether it’s worth it or not, for you. As some have mentioned already, there’s a fantastic deal to acquire a game bundle of previous game updates for USD35…that, in itself, is definitely worth it, imho. Caveat: this forum, like any other established game forum, can be somewhat volatile and negative at times…there’s a lot of negative vibes directed at the ‘Old Guard’ at BHQ…and for very good reasons, too… However, there’s a new team trying to steer Destiny into calmer waters…and that will take some time. This, I believe, is an important consideration…and that’s down to you! Suggestion: Play the game. Find a good YouTube Content Creator - there’s way too many to mention, to help you navigate the game. Stay away from the Forum(s). Grab that $35 deal. And have at it! 👻 That is all. Play Fair! Play Nice! Don’t Cheat / Quit! 👈 Ease Springs! 🫡
