Things are getting pricy when it comes to gaming these days, there's no question about it. PS Plus and consoles went up, XBOX Game Pass and consoles are going up, Nintendo is getting steep, and that doesn't even address the games themselves.
Maybe I'll take up a new hobby like whittling.

They can keep it, too. Not all of the free monthly games catch my interest but there's usually at least one I look forward to. This month, it's 'Alan Wake 2.' I've thought about buying it several times lately but never did and now I'm glad I exercised restraint, lol.

I don't know what platform you're on but the PS Store has sales almost constantly, so I tend to hold off on buying new games for a while. That way, anything I'm interested in has time enough for studios to release the multiple patches that inevitably occur (a sign of the times, sad to say) as well bundles that typically include some if not all of the DLC for them. All in all, I stay stocked with enough of a game backlog that I rarely run out of things to play and it doesn't completely destroy my wallet, lol.
