I’m no expert but it seems your high light level works against you. If you have been grinding for high light, all enemies are scaled up against you.
You can be strong with high light and destroy common enemies (too easy)or the higher light is time for enemies to be tougher than ever so you will die often and appreciate the victory more (too hard). Looks like they have chosen the latter.
Much of the player base wants the previous system back but a few excellent players are satisfied. From my experience, the new system should be scrapped, create D3, and be wiser from all the mistakes we are swimming in.
PS: I hear D1 is having a revival in activity, its version of Crota, VOG, Kings fall, etc are much better.

No. Conquests have set power caps. Leveling doesn’t make you weaker. Only your level relative to your enemy level matters.
The previous system punished you more for being below level and substantially so.

They changed what causes an activity to display what difficulty it is. The actual difficulty did not change.
