There is absolutely no reason to grind after 400, as T4 drops are pretty much maxed. T5 armor gives you an extra slot, and T5 weapons get a 2% bump in dmg and a cosmetic. What Im trying to say is the difference between T5 and T4 is so small, its not going to affect any ingame play. There is a huge chunk of the destiny community that did in fact ask for this, there was so much dead time after players reached pinnacle level, they wanted more stuff to do end game. Bungie release EoF with that, once you hit 400 (which was quite easy), you get T4 already, so anything after that is gravy. If they only made the leveling to 400, then damn near every player would of been done with the game a month ago. The extra grind to 500/550 isnt for every player, its for the ones that wanted more to do. This grind to 550 is NOT manditory, its just a personal achievement you have put on yourself, as theres nothing in the game stating you need to. If you are a casual player, the 550 power will not be attainable. Its not for the casual player. Theres nothing even in the game that would need you to be 500, EXCEPT for ultimate mode. A mode that was introduced specifically for the players I stated above, the ones that play on the regular. This grind is also until Dec, but some of you maniacs push YOURSELVES to attain it in the quickest fashion, I saw one post were the guy said he wanted to grind 450-500 in one weekend. Very destructive. Maybe dust off some of the guns you played the game so much to attain, and just enjoy playing for once. Pre EoF gear isnt obsolete, it still kills just as well as the new stuff. I still have lots of builds that dont have any Tier armor in them.
