Magic has been dead for a very long time and I'm glad others are starting to realize it. The writing was on the walls of where everything was going at the start of Witch Queen. The changes made throughout Year 5 gradually backed the game into a not so hot position. Paired with the Lightfall changes, it was literally continue down the road they had set before them or revert back to a near Shadowkeep sandbox and design state to correct the issues, effectively saying that 2 years of work was wasted. I still believe they should have just gone backward and bit the bullet because at least Y2 and Y3 aside from some smaller things was fun, worthwhile and engaging and provided a positive outlook. The moment they did the DCV and sunsetting they set off a change of decisions that ultimately backed them into a corner time and time again. Now they have an incomplete game missing its most popular core content, where most gear is pointless and the game has little to no narrative future due to poor handling of narrative in Lightfall and Final Shape. I quit back when Lightfall dropped but barely even played throughout Year 5 excluding Witch Queen itself. I remember exactly when the magic of the game just ceased to exist and never came back. Its sad honestly, some of my most favorite gaming memories and core experience came from Destiny between Taken King and Beyond Light. So its really just sad to see such a rapid decline with such an obvious start and cause.
