There’s so many underused Exotic weapons, why on earth would they nerf the ones that are working? Buff other weapons to make players use those more! We need more buffs not nerfs.
I just don’t understand their logic…

Did you read the descriptions on some of those? Lord of Wolves - they’re basically saying it’s used too much and want to tune it down to encourage players to use something else. It’s not broken, it’s just used far too often. Same for Queen’s Breaker. Not broken, just strong DPS. Thunderlord - May a little broken, but in a really good way. Why nerf it? They broke class specific swords and Glaives and left those changes. Maybe buff other exotic machine guns to be on par with Thunderlord?

They're being diplomatic. LoWs is still busted. Queenbreaker I don't get, stated as much. Only total DPS for the AR... And Thunderlord became even stronger somehow with Bolt Charge... It turned into Gally for the last TWO world's 1st's. And you didn't need to reload it.

Tbh, some of the nerfs makes sense. LoW is still nuts, and still will be. Outbreak was a nerf we all saw coming, we’re doing optimal dps with a primary ffs. I hope the “fix” to the thunderlord isn’t too bad but it’ll be fine probably. Queenbreaker doesn’t make sense, moving on I’m more annoyed with what DIDN’T get changed. What, did they spend all of their time buffing the -blam!- out of Sturm and Mida that they forgot that trace rifles and most primary’s are still bad? The 400 work hours they spent on the Stronghold changes distracted them from the THIRTY plus exotic armor that aren’t used? And it’s not like the stronghold changes will even be worth while, my sword will still phase me right though the enemy like it has for the last 10 -blam!- ing years. What a disappointing overview, that’s all I’ll say.

What’s wrong with using special ammo lmao. Obviously there is going to be a tradeoff for having higher dmg. Bakris makes up for low nerf. Even post nerf, low will have higher dps than outbreak. Its total dmg is lower but it’s not used as your main dmg but instead to dump after you run out of heavy. In majority of dmg phases you don’t run out of heavy ammo and kinetic special and energy special which means you can swap to higher dmg specials as necessary or when you run out of heavy. Strand grapple melees don’t need a mountain of setup. You tend to have banner of war stacks from your add clear as well as wormgods. The only thing is being careful with placing your grapple point. Alternatively you can use a tangle but it’s more finicky. You can even dump lance ephemeral which has very high total dmg with fttc. If optimal means highest dps, outbreak is certifiably not it by any stretch. The reason it was used was that it could inflate your dmg by letting you spam supers, which is getting nerfed. Additionally, you can use pks with mint retrograde and parasite to give yourself a 15% buff to your smg and mint which makes mint better than pretty much any heavy. You will also build super very quickly. This will obviously have higher dmg than holding m1 so you are again wrong.

Lord of wolves with bakris If this works, it shouldn't. Super regen and synergy stacking is what we're talking about. SURPRISE... I don't run that ****. So, you're right. And I honestly think it will be nominal. That 'nerf'. The weapons to do it might change, that's it. There are already theory crafting videos, and I've done some testing as well.

작성자: ForeverLaxx 9/4/2025 6:29:53 AMWhat's funny is, go to an Aegis DPS video and you'll find empirical proof that they nerfed things that aren't even close to being top performers. Outbreak's nerf everyone saw coming, but its DPS isn't even above 3500 assuming full nanite saturation that requires other people using the gun themselves. If you're using it solo, it's closer to 2500. LoW isn't great because the reserve nerfs hit it very hard. Now granted, Aegis looks at DPS from a speedrunner's perspective, but his testing is extensive and assumes you're doing everything you can to squeeze as much out of these weapons as possible. None of these weapons made the list of things he'd use unless there's some niche reason to do so. Outside of reducing super generation from Outbreak and its similar cousins, none of this was necessary. Buffing other options would do a lot more for "variety," which is what Bungie claims to care about.
