When there are multiple sources of effects audio the game stops registering them; like the sound of a machinegun firing, GL impact on enemies, your character taking hits.
It’s like the audio gets overwhelmed.

Same issue. It has been like this from the very start of Edge of Fate. It is a shame Bungie that this has not been a priority as it totally effects your game play. I will have completed the whole Legendary Campaign with not been able to hear my weapons firing. A bit disappointing for this new Expansion and Bungie.

Audio issues, matterspark/mattermorph issues, only 3 new armour and 2 weapon exotics, this update is bare bones and as lazy as bungie can get. I’m done with this -blam!-, the game has become unimaginative and repetitive . Legendary campaign and every boss fight is 1/2 or 1/3 health and matterspark to drop shield whilst also being unable to recover health whilst in matterspark. . Marathon will fail and bungie will fade into the sunset like the whole destiny franchise

I'm experiencing this on PS5 base and PS5 Pro, in both surround sound speakers and in the Pulse headset. First noticed it when fighting the first mini-boss of the first mission (Exile Overseer, I think it was called, the Servitor), and it's been happening again within the settlement and when I just did Step 2 of 31 of The Edge of Fate quest.

Having the same issue with my standard PS5, starting with today’s release; the audio for gunfire of various weapons (ARs,LMGs, Scouts), abilities (Grenades, casting Rift) even jumping will intermittently cut out. Seems to happen most often when taking incoming fire from enemies; atmospheric sound effects and background music seem largely unaffected. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
