Who wants to watch half an episode of their favorite tv show at a time, just to be forced to wait another 7 days for the next half of it? It's a terrible structure and destroys the flow of the already flat and boring story.
When theres 7 days inbetween these 5 minute bits of story all the time, who can stay motivated to follow that shallow story? Like i don't get who the metric for this trash is nowadays?
Drip feeding was gone last season and it showed us how little content we actually get for our money every season. I guess thats the reason why drip feeding is back..

10 답변The games fine. A few small bugs, but otherwise; it’s perfectly fine. Worst anyone can say is they’re bored. But that’s mostly an individual problem. Not the game itself giving players nothing to do. There’s a ton of content (new and old) you can jump into, earn rewards from, and have fun doing. Some folks just aren’t happy people, so they undergo a laundry list of mental gymnastics to discuss why something sucks when in reality — it doesn’t. Hating for the sake of hating. Now that’s not to say healthy criticism doesn’t exist or isn’t valid when needed. Plenty of instances to point to for that. But what I am saying is that the actual contents of the game itself are a majority positive experience. And if you’re not having fun; you’ve either backed yourself into an emotional corner — or you’re a confused new light -blam!- to buy anything, and/or is gatekept for most of the content.

1 답변작성자: xbroggiex 3/20/2025 11:31:29 AMI honestly thought from the way they described it was that this episode the story was not timegated but some stuff within the activities would be like secrets, upgrades or unlocks. But we have just gone back to hard timegating which is just kinda sad.

6 답변작성자: Richie 3/19/2025 7:31:04 AMIdk man, I can't remember the last time I cared about Seasonal story beats. They just aren't interesting. I mean, can you honestly say Echoes and Revenant were anything worth giving a damn about? And with Heresy, we have one of Destiny's most iconic villains back and... the whole story is told through text. Yeah man, how exciting to be playing through a mission and I have to stop playing the game in order to read the subtitles 😑. The Final Shape era of Destiny has been one giant snoozefest, imo. The Witch Queen era was the last time storytelling was good enough to make me sit up in my chair and pay attention to what the characters on my screen are saying, imo.

2 답변I am okay with being drip fed what Bungie class as a story. This way I only have to endure it for a short time each week leaving me free to play games with an actual story. The whole "prepare for it to reach back" dialogue is just copying the Neitsczhe quote about the Abyss looking back when you look into it. And I've played that Shrine of Oryx mission before with different enemies. More than once. But this time the enemies went immune. Apparently this is Bungie's latest thing, especially in timed events, after giving them four shields and having them teleport every time you get your sights on them. The dialogue is just awful too, it drones on and on to the point I just cant be bothered listening to it anymore.

6 답변Just wait the 3 weeks then jump on problem solved. Play other parts until then or just play other games it is really that easy.

1 답변I used to have to watch tv shows like that until netflix showed up. Even streaming services are doing it now, so we have to just skip watching it weekly until all the episodes are out, then we binge watch them.

3 답변
Who wants to watch half an episode of their favorite tv show at a time, just to be forced to wait another 7 days for the next half of it? It's a terrible structure and destroys the flow of the already flat and boring story.
Horrible analogy. Bungie is moreso do the equivalent of releasing a weekly episode for a new season.
When theres 7 days inbetween these 5 minute bits of story all the time, who can stay motivated to follow that shallow story? Like i don't get who the metric for this trash is nowadays?
Echos was 9 months ago. Calling heresy "trash" and "shallow" is a sure-fire bet to become the boy who cried wolf.
Drip feeding was gone last season and it showed us how little content we actually get for our money every season. I guess that's the reason why drip feeding is back..
Shocker, when you don't try to bring people back each week, they don't come back. Finding LFG for any endgame was basically dead last season, so good riddance to that cadence (although the story wasn't much better, to be fair).

1 답변Reminds me of that old Star Wars The Clone Wars series that would air episodes in ten minute segments each time. Except that was way better than any story Destiny is telling.

7 답변I was saying that if Bungie did stop with the drop feeding, we would see how little content we have. They gave us an entire act on week one, but I believe they should have gone further and just gave us act 1, 2 and 3 at the same time. No timegating whatsoever. Just EVERYTHING. Don't know how they would do it, but I would have liked to see what would happen. I always compare Destiny to FFXIV. FFXIV has a formula I like personally. You pay for the expansion and then every update is free. Well.... you still have to pay for a subscription as it's an MMO. But for the amount of content you get, I say it's worth it.

11 답변Bro has never watched anime, 20 minutes per weekly episode. You're paying 15 bucks for a season. I am Bungie's biggest hater when they screw up, but what exactly do you want for 15 bucks? Other games get static comic pages on a screen, maybe a cinematic and the season pass with nothing but cosmetics, (looking at you Apex), hell, Fortnite gets nothing but cosmetics for a season pass. What the hell do you want for 15 bucks every 4 months? Yes dripfeeding sucks, yes finishing an act in 4 hours also sucks. As much as it sucks to admit it, Bungie had a point when they said overdelivering was setting themselves up for failure. If we were paying more, sure, I'd expect a hell of a lot more content, but 15 bucks is nothing. The big bad is dead, we're literally fighting scraps here, neither Sundaresh nor Fikrul nor this Oryx represent any sort of menace to us. If it weren't for the need of a plot, they all could've been put to their knees by the same 6 Guardians who brought down the Witness. This game is 10 years old man, if you're still expecting hours on end of narrative seasonal content per week you just need to lower your incredibly unrealistic and entitled expectations.

15 dollars for The Nether, an Exotic Mission, a season pass full of rewards including another Exotic, new weapons and armor, story missions, and the new Arc Subclass mechanics isn't good value? We're also getting a dungeon refresh next month.
