Like, c'mon.
Players who hit max Power first ALREADY have the inherent advantages of:
* Having more time to play and practice
* Having access to more weapons / loaouts as a result of playing more
They DON'T need MORE advantages, like a flipping damage boost against enemies or a damage reduction in the damage they take.
Bungie already removed Power Level Advantages from IB, so why is it still a part of the Trials experience??
A lot of PVP is built around very minor balance points, like which guns kill faster and how many shots you can miss and hit your optimal. Power Level advantages screw all these things up, and it makes Trials the LEAST consistent 1v1 mode in the game.
Surely I can't be the only one who thinks that Power Level advantages is the DEFINITION of MAKING THE RICH RICHER.
EDIT: If anyone wants to know exactly how Power Level works in Trials, there is a calculator on this Reddit page:

1 답변Just level and then play pvp and endgame activities ??? Why waste time doing it now while all the no-lifers are a higher power level than you , just grind for 2 weeks like those no-lifers did and you will be at the same power level like them for the rest of the season ..

4 답변작성자: Zodleon 2/26/2025 7:13:54 AMI agree but for a different reason kinda. Same same but different. It's mostly because it's pointless, just like when it was in IB, you're either max light, or close enough for it not to make a difference, or so low level you might as well not participate. From a gameplay perspective, it doesn't add meaningful depth to the mode. It's a hold over when light level meant more to the game as a whole. The only excuse I'd accept is if they can definitively tell us the light level has an appreciable effect on the number of cheaters, due to needing to grind it on each new account, but I doubt that would be the case.

1 답변It’s funny reading this…. Got from remove unfair advantage to “players think this gives them an advantage” real fast. It’s the clear pepsi effect. It don’t taste any different, just play the game and have fun. Seriously.

4 답변U can also enter enemy players power in Google doc I attached, shows TTK for every wep type/Crit/body shots needed. Put '-5' if they are under light. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FWMC-Vd_bGEoRkkrn3drWIORCFYyWQVMNlMasa4OE6I/copy

26 답변So you want them to remove power level in trials because others are better prepared than you are? That makes no sense. It's not like trials is a once a season thing, so who cares if you aren't at the max power or not. I saw and played with or against people who were in 1980 power and doing better than the 2010 power players, so it doesn't really mean much. Unless you're around like 1950 or lower, it won't make much of a difference unless you already couldn't play pvp in the first place.

1 답변No… they need to artificially extend the grind to keep the little player base playing.

4 답변Last week trials seem to do well , lots of people went to the light house so can’t be that bad . Also it is end game PvP so power should be important no?

8 답변Power level in trials slows the influx of cheaters. I agree it's annoying to be under light, but after a week or 2 the majority of players can be close to the cap so they aren't at a disadvantage

1 답변Ummm idk what you played that this was a factor. I was 2018 and had 1970s beating me. It played no advantage. It was like it wasn’t enabled. I complained about it asking what was the purpose of it saying it was enabled. Must be a skill issue that you took the time to write this.
