The mass exodus happened because a lot players got closure when the final shape ended, and they didn’t want to continue supporting a studio that puts players last and keeps mishandling the game. Be it removing content we paid for, being forced to play their way, treating the game like a job to get any enjoyment, 1 step forward two steps back cycles, seasonal model, fun killing nerfs, poor leadership, layoffs, taking forever to fix things, and milking us for all we’ve got. For most the damage is done and there are a lot of other games out right now to keep them busy. Bungie has some work to do and I don’t think their mentality of pushing forward like nothing happened is going to work this time. My biggest advice to them is to figure what this game really is and lean into it more than ever before. MMO or looter shooter pick one and double down on it because this game has so much potential but it’s not being brought into that potential.
