Definitely not a gimmick. Hell how would it even be considered one? We called Grip a gimmick because it was designed to create a platform/destroy specific objects it wasn't designed for combat. This one outperforms every shotgun except Legend of Acrius and has insane ad clear to go on top with its biggest issue being ammo but that's a shotgun issue in general.
