They need to address the cheating before anything competitive will take off. I've all but quit pvp on PC simply due to having games/cards/flawless runs ruined by someone flying around with infinate heavy ammo or multiple supers in a a 5-0 game. - And that's just the hard cheaters. The device users also should be addressed; but that's something many games have issues with and haven't solved.
The current comp reward is lackluster - an emblem for reaching the highest ranks and that's it. Nothing for hitting 10k, nothing for maintaining ascendant through the entire season. With that said; as someone who is only slightly above average in pvp - part of it is the player numbers; other part is lack of incentive; but I'm not waiting 4-5minutes for a comp match to grind to Ascendant this season. Hitting Ascendant for me isn't easy like it is for PVP mains, but when there is zero incentive to play the mode; i simply just don't. I can't imagine anyone wanting to play ranked if all the rewards are locked behind only the highest tier when many players will never reach it - Look at how Trials faired when the adepts/cosmetics etc are locked behind the lighthouse (when adepts actually mattered)
With that said - this is a PVE game. If the dev's don't nail pve; there's no hope to bringing in enough players who will do pvp on the side.

The issue with devices such as Cronus and XIM is a significant challenge, and it goes beyond the scope of just Destiny 2. This problem should be addressed at the platform level by console manufacturers and PC ecosystem providers. These devices exploit input mechanics that bypass game-level protections, and unless platform holders actively block or detect these devices, they will continue to plague competitive gaming environments across multiple titles. While Bungie and other developers can work on mitigation strategies, the ultimate responsibility lies with console and hardware manufacturers to ensure that such devices are not supported or compatible with their platforms. By implementing stricter input validation and detection methods at the system level, this problem could be significantly reduced or even eliminated. Until this happens, device users will remain an ongoing issue in many competitive games, as they effectively undermine fair play. It’s a tough challenge, but a united effort between developers and platform holders is necessary to address this problem comprehensively.

작성자: WifeAggro_AFK 1/13/2025 1:03:53 PMYou're going to get your post locked; if you type out the actual name of said devices. With that said - both console manufactures have implemented blocks. I think Xbox lasted a day or two and PS lasted a whopping 1.5 months. I don't see either console being able to tackle said issue directly; so i wish they leveraged other avenues like Gamestop; you need to stop selling these devices or else all our console releases will go to this other vendor; to at least make them a lot less accessable.

Yes, I agree with you. However, manufacturers could theoretically block all third-party devices, allowing only their own controllers and input devices to be used. After all, each platform already has its own "Pro" version of input devices, such as the Elite Controller on Xbox or the DualSense Edge on PS5. But honestly, that will probably never happen, because platform manufacturers make countless millions by selling licenses to third-party companies. In the end, it’s always about the money. As long as we keep playing – no matter the game – these devices will always exist. Maybe AI can make a difference in ten years, whether through better detection methods or other protective measures. But until then, it’s an ongoing battle between developers, platform providers, and those who use such systems.
