Guardian Rank 7 Triumph Requires Ice Breaker
Isn't this supposed to be Alethonym?

I noticed this the other day looking at the GR rank as it says the exotic is on the season pass and of course Ice Breaker isn't, Alethonym is. Seemed wrong that the rank would be tied to the dungeon exotic. I assume it was meant to be Alethonym kills.

I'm assuming it's a bug since every season has the seasonal exotic in the guardian ranks, but if not that's really classic Bungie tying our guardian rank progress to dungeon exotic rng! Some people have gone 100+ clears without getting certain dungeon exotics and lots of players out there don't even play dungeons/raids. Every design choice this season has been about slowing our progress and adding more grind/busy work (weapon crafting, potions, pinnacle cap, etc) so we keep playing more. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is intentional.

1 답변작성자: Atrius 10/9/2024 7:56:37 AMCan confirm the same issue, it even lists the text beneath as "Each Season, there is a new Exotic weapon earned via the Season Pass." which heavily implies this isn't intentional. My guess is at some point, they decided to swap Ice Breaker for Alethonym in the dungeon/season pass, and forgot to update all the associated tasks tied to the weapon, that would at least be a reasonable mistake. (And no, trying to use Alethonym does not progress it. This effectively softlocks anyone trying to progress until the dungeon is out, or they fix it.)

1 답변yeah i wondered the same thing, the second sentence implies the season pass exotic... i've tested alethonym and it did not progress the counter. it'll be quite surprising if bungie is gating guardian rank 7 behind acquiring an RNG exotic.
