- Better assets/skybox: D2 looks more plastic-like/cartoonish than D1. D1 visuals were so much better in my opinion.
- Better strikes: Almost every strike had its own specific loot. Even D2 had this in year 1, but not anymore. Destiny 1 also had strike variations, which made sure the playlist didn't get old.
- SIVA: Why hasn't this come back yet? The Plaguelands was an awesome destination. The devil splicers were fun to fight too.
- Good crucible maps: I want Firebase Delphi and Asylum back. Please no more maps like Disjunction and Dissonance.
- Good crucible modes: Skirmish, Combined Arms, and Salvage were great modes. They could easily come back. Instead, Bungie gave us eruption, tribute, and collision. The D1 version of rift was also much better.
- More enemy factions: Each enemy race in D1 had several factions. You'd find different enemy factions depending on which area or planet you went to (e.g., Fallen had House of Devils, House of Winter, House of Kings, House of Exile, etc.). This didn't change how you fought them, but I appreciated the extra worldbuilding. There's some of that in D2, but not enough.
Edit:
- Factions: Dead Orbit, FWC, and New Monarchy. D2 year 1 had a version of this as well. Sucks that they discontinued them for no reason.
