PoV : You’re a new light, just got the game. You’re in a patrol zone and a mysterious flag pops up. A public event? Woah that sounds awesome. Suddenly 4 other guardians appear with glowing armor. The public event starts. You blink twice and everything is dead, one guardian is screaming at you in chat to come stand in the white circle, calling you a noob You tried hitting the boss but it died instantly. What kind of sweaty game is this? ——————————————————- But really, why do GMs only give 12k glimmer? They should give 30-50k. Bungie thinks more activity in Patrol zones is good for the game but there’s nothing good about people speedrunning publics, making the heroic chest appear in less than 20 seconds (when its not gosh darn glimmer extraction). There’s nothing good or fun for a new player learning how to swap guns, aim guns , try new gun archetypes to have a bunch of rank 10-11 guardians show up , stand there like absolute bots and oneshot every enemy in a public event without saying a word. Its hurting the new light experience more than it benefits it Sadly it is still the quickest way to get to max glimmer and for those numbnuts wondering “Hurr durr but Im at max glimmer all the time” it is to focus trials guns, gambit guns, vanguard guns , event guns or exotic armors. All which can burn through 500k glimmer in less than 10 seconds. Buff the glimmer gains from seasonal activities instead, where new lights won’t get disturbed in their peaceful exploration of the game. Buff dungeon glimmer, raid glimmer. There should be bounties for completing all dungeon or all raid encounters giving 50k and 100k glimmer. GM should give 30k glimmer, a master nightfall 20k End this nonsense, let the EDZ be a peaceful place once again.
