Just ran my first gm nightfall in years, we cleared it with 15+ revives left
But, we almost got wiped by a wyvern that snuck up behind us. So I thought id check if extinguish was still around after the clear and it is.
I think I'll leave the wyvern enemy design discussion for another time, but if that one unflinching death machine did get the last stray shot 20+ minutes and all of those revives would mean nothing. From one mistake.
Kind of reminds me why I stopped running them. With the amount of splash dmg, champs etc that spawn its really just not worth having that much time and effort wasted.
Think a re-work would be nice, if the adept variant only drops on a run with no wipes but other rewards are unchanged you might convince more people to do gm's

GM’s are meant to be high risk and high reward which is exactly the type of stakes that the modifier feeds into. Grandmaster is supposed to be the hardest difficulty in the game but the fact is that they’re objectively easier than they’ve ever been before. Sure, if you’re new to the GM experience or aren’t comfortable in that setting it’ll still pose a challenge that’ll vary from player to player and team to team but I can guarantee you that anyone new to GM’s will have an exponentially easier time now than they would’ve had stepping into them for the first time over four years ago when they were first released. Even the most experienced players in GM’s fall victim to Extinguish, it happens. Sometimes it’s frustrating but sometimes it’s also pretty hilarious. One thing that it does provide are the “hero moments” where players can clutch the “last guardian standing” scenarios which can be an absolutely killer feeling for players who’re put into said moments. Ultimately though GM’s don’t need to be dumbed down, it’s that simple.

Don't spread out because then the enemies will teleport all over the place , use super on the right time , make orbs , bring your best possible loadout . If you see : new reinforcements incoming . Then make sure you are ready for the wave . Bring a tether hunter , ursa furiosa titan , stasis warlock , idk about well cause i have not used it since the nerf but don't go melee the enemies with a strand titan for example . Keep your distance . And the most important thing : if you cannot do it on grandmaster then first do some practice runs on a lower difficulty , you will know the enemy spawn points , with how many they are , if there is a sniper anywhere that can one-shot you , if you don't look at where that darn overload is going because you are shooting ads and suddenly he pops up in your @$$ . I have seen it all . Just keep practicing 😉

6 답변작성자: 8Babies13 6/28/2024 11:42:49 PMI'm of two minds when it comes to this issue. In D1, going to orbit when everyone was dead was the norm, however revives were infinite. Here, with the limited revives I feel it needs a *small* change. Imagine if we had a system with limited revives, and orbit when the entire team has exhausted them, but instead of a total wipe being instant orbit, instead it could revive one guardian for say... 3-5 revives. Make the revive tokens an actual currency to spend as needed. You can self rez if in a terrible spot, or if everyone is downed, but it is costly. This would at least give people more of a fighting chance to save the day if the -blam!- hits the fan. It would negatively impact the supposed prestige of solo GM, and would hurt some of the idea of difficulty. But I feel like the trade-off is fair. Back when GMs were a mountain to be climbed once just for the prestige and twitch viewers it made more sense. Now that they've turned it into a loot pinata that they want everyone to play for materials, forget the supposed prestige.

5 답변No it shouldn't be removed. Play your life. We can hold a max of 20 revives at a time. If you're going through all 20 than maybe you should try the difficulty below grandmaster & learn the ad spawn cadence

14 답변Then don't let the wyvern sneak up on you? Glassway is 4 years old, the spawn patterns are the same. Use your super and instakill them. You'll have it back by the next set of wyverns. Most of the time extinguish isn't even a threat. Did it first try with my buddy and an LFG random and we finished with 20 lives left.

35 답변The third paragraph right there is exactly why this newbraid is bad. The timer mechanic on top of sitting there waiting to play ping pong gives u no room for error in some encounters and makes the raid bad and boring.

작성자: Shadow 6/28/2024 4:33:22 AMDid a run today and we were triple stacked in the room on the left and it was Wyverns phase… Man idk something didn’t feel right, two teammates fighting adds and something told me to pop super and turn it was a damn Wyvern. That could’ve been ugly but I handled it lol Moral is just be ready for anything

The “improvement” you just proposed is called a Master Nightfall. Why not just play one of those instead. Why do you need to play a GM? It’s clear you don’t care about the adept loot, as you give a suggestion that Wipes remove them from the Loot Table, but then what difference is there in how a GM plays, because the point of running a GM is to get the Adepts.

3 답변Dude, that’s exactly what makes them great, you can wipe at any moment. Why do you want to change something you admit to doing every 2 years? I do them a lot and they have become quite easy.

Stop trying to ruin hard content.
