It's a complete waste of time, not enjoyable. Crafting is so much better.
I engaged far more with the seasonal activities because I was guaranteed 1 red border a week. I knew my time was leading somewhere.
Onslaught is just an endless gamble with no end in sight.
If this is the future of Destiny, I quit after TFS.

작성자: Obi-Juan 5/15/2024 3:26:36 AMRaid loot has been craftable since final shape and it's killed the replayability of raids. You can't have it all your way. The best thing bungie can do is make some activities rng loot, some crafted. This activity is rng but it's also extremely forgiving rng because you can literally attune the weapon you want to have a 50% droprate. That's generous as hell compared to dungeon weapon rng. Some people go 50 1st encounters without seeing a single Indebted Kindness

작성자: xbroggiex 5/15/2024 4:31:23 PM
That's generous as hell compared to dungeon weapon rng.
Attunement is only slightly better than that its not even a guarantee, and still dungeon reward structure needs to be updated and be made more rewarding.
Raid loot has been craftable since final shape and it's killed the replayability of raids.
The way raids are designed kill the replayability of raids, most players do not want to play the same encounter over and over and over again trying to hope that the slot machine rolls in their favor(unless you want to burn out your players). There is no variance there is no random elements it plays the exact same way every time. It also speaks to how poorly its designed that people would prefer to farm a singular encounter than play the entire raid, and lest we forget people farming Templar for spoils just so they can buy weapons from the final encounter. Crafting for raids isn't perfect but its way better than what we had before.

To you and other no lifers it "killed raiding" for others like myself it actually motivated me to bother raiding because I knew I would get the rolls I wanted and it wasn't ohh I'll farm this raid for a year on all 3 characters and still never get the roll I want.

I just want this game to based around actually putting a time in and having an end in sight. Stuff in FFXIV works so good because when you grind for something, you have alternative ways to get something you want because it's usually just "grind this currency for this quest step". Want the Best In Slot item but your RNG is garbage? You get a book every time you do it that can be traded for that item if you raid enough. Same with stuff like mounts and minions.
-
This game has multiple systems in place that's the beauty of it. Something for everyone. Crota's End exotic? Not as rng based as other raids, you just get oversouls and eventually are guaranteed the exotic. Crafting exists for some activities. Exotic missions let you craft the weapon instantly. Can't make every activity crafted coz not everyone likes the loot chase of crafting. Gotta have compromise. Some for them, some for you.
-
they are kinda damned if they do and damned if they don't. whenever they make back-to-back seasons with tons of craftable rewards you see the forums filled with people talking about how crafting takes the fun out of the game because there's no reason to grind any activity since they have all the god rolls. hell before into the light the forums had several top posts about how crafting was the worst mistake Destiny 2 made because it made the game boring. Now when they give people a suite of weapons they have to grind for, those same people complain about how much rng sucks and how much they wish the weapons were craftable. No matter which part of the community they listen to, there are still going to be mass complaints. I personally wish all the weapons were craftable, but considering how much people on the forums and Reddit were complaining about how craftable weapons make activities boring, I understand why they decided to make these weapons not craftable.

작성자: Obi-Juan 5/15/2024 3:30:36 AMExactly man. People need to be more self aware. Crafting has killed raid loot incentive. the replayability of raids has been awful for some people since Witch Queen. They can't expect the whole game to be crafting. Give and take. Best thing bungie can do is exactly what they've been doing. Some crafting, some rng.

1. Crafting is a mistake for a looter shooter since they went into Warframe direction of weapon acquisition while random drop is the core of looter when it should be more to grinder from borderlands 2. There's not enough content to keep players after getting the weapon. By the time you obtained the weapon you would have done all activities and it's not much from the start
-
And you’re proving my point. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the fact that there are so many people arguing bungie to do too opposite things is a problem. You and many others think crafting was a mistake, while the op and many others think endlessly grinding content for a stream of garbage rolls is boring. Either way someone is unhappy
-
They made a mistake introducing crafting since it's a sure way to get certain perk rolls. Focusing was the right step and look at bungie, stating that they don't like crafting because it removes the excitement for getting a drop Who's to blame? No one but bungie for not considering the effects from adding crafting and there's still not enough content to keep players engaged for $40 a DLC
-
Because it acts as a safety net for bad rolls which at the same time makes random rolls obsolete. Listening doesn't mean applying everything at face value when they have focusing and attuning (assuming they work) and they can copy a bit from borderlands grinder for crafting, not straight up making random drop undesirable
-
Focusing and attuning both were in the game when people were asking for crafting. Neither actually stopped people from getting horrible roles consistently and the people asking for crafting were specifically asking for the ability to “make their godrolls” that wasn’t bungie applying it at face value that was them implementing the exact thing people were asking for, which was the ability to pick their perks. Focusing and attuning do nothing to actually solve the problem people were having because as you can see from the current items focusable right now being able to pick your weapon does nothing to actually solve getting consistent terrible roles. Even safety nets like multiple perks in a column still cause many to get multiple perk columns of trash perks. Im not saying the system now is perfect, but i do think that solely blaming bungie for this problem when they implemented something the majority of players were asking for exactly at the time is a little unreasonable.
-
One reasonable thing is bungie considering all aspects before releasing something and that's the problem, they simply add things without consideration like aerial effectiveness or crafting
Focusing and attuning do nothing to actually solve the problem people were having because as you can see from the current items focusable right now being able to pick your weapon does nothing to actually solve getting consistent terrible roles
Then it's a questionable design from bungie if they're not working or bad perk rolls are weighed far more than focusing and attuning

"We want Destiny 2 to be an amazing action MMO, in a single, evolving world, that you can play anytime, anywhere with your friends. I’m going to keep referencing that. All the time. Until its true. And then, I’m going to keep referencing it until it’s good enough.” - Luke Smith, 2019 SOURCE: https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2019/08/13/daily-reaction-dissecting-luke-smiths-destiny-2-directors-cut-part-one/ I don't see Bungie referencing their game as a "looter shooter" since that time.
-
It's a bit main character of you to belittle people just because they prefer a certain way of playing than you do. Imagine they said you were a participation trophy player? You guys gotta realise you can't have everything your way. The game has a good balance of loot for both sides. Some rng. Some crafted.
-
작성자: Obi-Juan 5/22/2024 2:25:08 AMIf rng is gambling addiction, wanting crafting everywhere is wanting handouts no? Both can be critiqued. The game can have a balance of both. Some crafting, some rng. Rng can have attunement too like into the light. More drops to make rng more forgiving. Things can be done to make it less tedious.

You keep saying that like it means something. Ya, that comparison makes sense if you completely ignore my previous comment about gating things behind skill. Don't try to ruin a game because you have too much free time.
-
Gating things behind skill isn't casual friendly. The bulk of people can't even complete a raid. I just don't want to spend weeks trying to maybe get the roll I want. I'm at 500+ rounds of onslaught with luna attuned and still haven't gotten the roll to drop.
