I don’t think the easiest to use primaries should be the ones that are also the best. Guns types should fulfill niches and not be the best in every situation. When that starts happening (Previous SMG meta, earlier 120 metas), all other weapon types seem unusable. Autos are currently too strong, and I don’t think it’s a good idea that Bungie keeps giving us Autos with better and better perk combos (Target lock, Onslaught) like they have on the new Prosecutor and Summoner re-releases. I know it’s been a minute since the last Auto meta, but i don’t think that means we should let them be unbalanced. Auto rifles are at 32% of all weapon kills in Trials of Osiris this weekend. Any time a weapon type reaches numbers that high, it should be a decent indicator that they should be looked at.
