Hi everyone! Before you read just know I am not gonna complain and say heavy is broken so don’t come at me for whining just yet.
Lets start with what the heavy’s are of course we got rockets, grenade launchers, swords, machine guns and Linears.
At a weapon level grenade launchers shine way above any other heavy unless you’re talking exotics which are mainly good.
I will say heavy DOES have a place in modes like mayhem but everywhere else it serves no purpose.
Trials for example the heavy round use to be a way to force the players to play in a different way. Now that its capture it changes nothing about where you go or how you play it just takes a little bit of priority over the capture point which makes it pointless… by the time you get heavy in trials currently you have already won the round.
In competitive it is also relatively pointless and 90% of the time the better team will get it anyway so once again it does nothing. So at its core I personally don’t think heavy has a place in 3s.
Now onto our “casual” 6’s. While heavy does add spice in these modes I think its too frequent if I have my numbers correct heavy spawns 4 times in control and for the most part has no effect on the match outcome besides y know the ability to use heavy which is more than likely just gonna be a grenade launcher for most crucible players. While I don’t think heavy is an issue I think 4 times is too disruptive for normal gunplay.
I will say a mode like rift actually can have heavy but it should go to both teams to either get a really solid attack or defense to kinda break a stale mate in rift but thats not how it is in rift so it is one of those if ur winning u just win harder things which once again makes it pointless.
I do understand people like getting heavy but overall its kind of got no effect in the crucible and is only disruptive. I think overall heavy needs to mostly vanish from the crucible I could be in a minority or majority but nonetheless I just wanted my feedback out there. Maybe its part of many of the heavies kinda just being bad in comparison to grenade launchers. A similar conversation could be had for abilities but thats for a different time!

4 답변Heavy ammo is meant to draw people into an area and force an engagement. It’s like a side objective especially in trials.

Heavy is just power up pick ups in other games. Only difference is that heavy pick ups usually guarantee kills. In other games you had to play with skill around them. But after playing games like smash brothers, you truly appreciate proper gameplay without all the cheap item gimmicks.

1 답변In 6s 100% keep it. In anything "competative" sure remove it, but also remove any heal, restoration, over shields for those modes too.

1 답변It could either vanish or works as a round ended when 1 team gets too far, in the same way special works in checkmate, just a much higher requirement. Possibly tying it to very high kill streaks like 15 or 20

2 답변Should go back to the d1 heavy system for 6v6 Spawns one time, in two locations mid match and that’s it Also add the gentlemen’s mechanic back from D1 to comp, if everyone waves/emotes in the first 10s or so in a match then heavy was disabled

1 답변I [i]want [/i]to be pissed by this concept. But truth be told I only ever grab heavy if I need it for a bounty or quest (but not sure we have had any quests requiring heavy in PvP, ever) So if heavy went I would not cry. But 10 bucks says they fail to remove the bounty for Shaxxie.

1 답변Heavy is a catch up mechanic. It also discourages camping. Forcing you to come out of your spawn at least to prevent the other team from controlling the heavy ammo drop. I’m short, heavy penalizes some pretty obnoxious play styles that are not fun to have to play against. Just like the 3-point shot was added to basketball to force big teams to come out from under the basket and cover the whole floor.

1 답변Sorry, the game felt better when heavy spawned in two places twice a match Destiny 1 style. The slow march to legacy halo/d2 vanilla gameplay is most unwelcome. No more go slow updates.

In general, any time heavy is available it should go to both teams, not just one, because it really is not a viable option for the losing team to catch up. It only puts them at a further disadvantage. What blows my mind is that there is heavy available right away on match start. I see it all the time. If its to combat the winning team, and hopefully even it out more [i](though it doesn't)[/i] why is it being made available immediately? It feels like they just kind of gave an arbitrary reason to, I guess pander some, to the players. Largely though? It is useless. It really doesn't have a place in PvP. Abilities and regular weapons are more than enough. One heavy spawn per match, at the halfway time mark seems like a decent way to do it, or only making it available for the team with less points. In that sense, it is for defensive.

1 답변I can see removing it from competitive modes, but more casual modes are fine. My only complaint is the game sometimes cheats and constantly spawns 1 team closer to the heavy spawn, it's especially noticeable on maps where the heavy rotates and the same team always spawns next to it.

2 답변i think no heavy in comp modes is a fine idea. for 6s i think they should go back sort of like D1 and have two heavy chests spawn once a match in each spawn right around the time supers are up.

2 답변Right now it probably feels like more because there's a lot of grenade launchers and they have more ammo. There are other things that can get annoying when they are buffed to some people like linears as well or super strong rockets so maybe in 6v6 it should be halved? In Trials there's really no reason to have it unless it popped bubbles and broke wells.
