I don’t believe we should have found Strand the way we did at all. I was thinking about what Strand and the meaning behind it. It’s be able to manipulate the threads that connects. We’re talking about tugging on the fabric of reality itself. How do we stumble upon a massive tear in reality that no in the the entire universe can really touch or see and just casually start bending it to our will. Here how it should have been:
During our time at Neomuna, we see the green strands that we normally see. Every time we see it, we try speculating what it is, with the Cloud Striders asking what we’re seeing and what it can mean. We could have a moment we’re we try interacting with and all we get is the feeling an energy but can’t really touch it or manipulate it. Then later down the line we encounter Calus, and uses an ability to suppress or light like Ghaul did. We and our Ghost loose our connection temporarily to the light and we get thrown to the edge and we start hanging on. As we’re holding on for our life, Calus picks up our Ghost and starts boasting about his powers and how weak the light is. As he’s ranting, we become terrified because this same scenario happened to us before and we don’t think we can survive this one. As we become internal, we notice the green strands floating near Calus. That is when we find our inner power just like we did with Stasis. We give in and concentrate on “letting go”. After we concentrate, we start reach up and we start to pull. This is when we essential discover grapple, and we pull ourselves up. Calus watches us pull on the thin air and we land in front of us. He becomes frightened, wondering what the hell we just did. Then, since we’ve given in, Strand starts flowing up our arms and we look down at it. We start to understand this power and we start to fight Calus. One at a time, we learn how to do an ability. We understand how to grapple. Then we do a damage phase and then we understand how to do a melee. Then after another large damage phase, we learn to weave supers. This is when we would either kill Calus or he ecapes. Then from their we start trying to master these Strands, whether it be the main focus like it became during the story, or as a post campaign quest to master it.
This would have been the perfect way to introduce this new element. Just like Stasis, we give in and we allow it to take the lead while making sure we don’t let it take full control. This is why we have to take time to master it on the side because we use it like Stasis and try to fight it back.
