This IB is a perfect example, they don't even do the bare minimum to see if an exotic will break the game, on top of that you have SBMM with a dwindling player base so you have to wait longer to get into a sweaty match and because no one on your skill level is close to you it's a lag fest where your guns don't even register 1/2 the time.
It doesn't even matter which side of the SBMM/CBMM you fall on, they've taken such crappy care of the game that no one is happy.
Why wouldn't we expect Marathon to be just about exactly like this?

Bungie needs 5v5 for this game. Been saying it for ages. 90% of their maps work best with 5v5 it seems to me. 6v6 is fine on many but too much on a lot. 3v3 is just a terrible mode, and the fact they have stuck with this for so long leads me to believe they have ZERO accountability on their PvP staff. Beyond all that matchmaking is some of the worst in the entire gaming industry at this point. No joke. As a near 2KDA player this season, I have never seen so many lopsided games in all my life. I refuse to touch Trials or Comp because waste of life. 3v3 is such a terrible mode to be your main mode in ANYTHING. How the god have they stuck with this for how long again? Embarrassing.

Why wouldn't we expect Marathon to be just about exactly like this?
After finding out a little more info about the supposed 'Marathon Reboot', I gotta say, I actually couldn't care less. I loved the Original Marathon. I loved that Marathon Infinity came with all Bungie's Tools (forge, anvil etc.) and allowed us to completely build new PVP OR PVE levels, even to the extent of importing our own new textures, graphics, sound files and other assets. I especially loved this because I am a Professional Graphic Designer/Photographer, so all I had to do, to start creating levels was to watch all the tutorials and learn Bungie's creation tools; Forge and Anvil, complimented by my Design skills using Adobe Creative Suite. But this NEW Marathon is looking more and more like Bungie just cannibalized the Marathon IP they already owned to create some new crap with only a superficial and meaningless relationship to what Marathon actually was! I don't even see the frakkin point of calling this new thing Marathon!!! It's like when Bungie "Brought Back Hawkmoon", but utterly failed to comprehend what was wonderful about the OG Hawkmoon! Instead of a gun with "Luck in the Chamber" that gave us 2 'lucky' bullets per clip (or 3 with catalyst), that did addition DMG and required no special conditions to activate, we instead got THE EXACT OPPOSITE. We got a irritating, fussy HC that ONLY gives its wielder full value of the exotic weapon perk on the last bullet of the magazine... AND ONLY IF EVERY PRECEDING SHOT WAS A HEADSHOT!!! I LOVED my D1 Hawkmoon! The new Hawkmoon is completely pointless. Without ANY single player campaign in the new Marathon? It will NOT BE MARATHON. Calling it MARATHON is just another Bungie Lie, intending to jump start a new game by riding on the coat tails of a once beloved game franchise. I don't think ANYONE at Bungie has the slightest clue wtf they are doing. Gunship
…..on top of that you have SBMM with a dwindling player base so you have to wait longer to get into a sweaty match.
And yet… there are the fan boys who claim the latest content drop broke player number records. Maybe they just don’t know what words mean…

Marathon is going to basically be Destiny 2 vanilla. So Destiny players will hate it within the first week and non Destiny players will be bored with just another generic shooter within the first week. I see a big fail with it.

I totally agree, I would never purchase another Bungie product. They have no respect for their players time or money. They ignore their community, always take the path of least resistance, do not play test anything, reskin everything, and in general are just a bad developer. I do not know one person that would buy a PvP game from Bungie after playing their current PvP. Matchmaking is horrible in iron banner and has been for years and they do nothing and say nothing. Bungie is a joke of a company now. They keep delivering less, however have the nerve to charge more. There is no way anyone should purchase marathon.

3 답변
when Bungie has destroyed PVP in Destiny
Because this is done for Marathon in the first place I never understand, who in their right mind believed that starting all the "labs" in crucible was for a 9 year old title, it's beyond clear they are collecting data for Marathon and the two new titles' pvp mode The truth is, they could keep crucible exactly as it was 3 years ago and PVP would be plainly better than it is now, really, destiny is not where bungie's focus lies, every pvp change after year 4 it's just a trial run for the new king

1 답변I’m honestly looking forward to it failing. All the neglect that Destiny has got, it will be sweet justice. We all know they can’t make a decent PvP game anymore.

EXACTLY. They simply do not fear the consequences at all and just abandoned the once awesomely fun pvp portion of D2 to work on an uncertain new ip. Thats why i REALLY hope their new game will flop. I really do. They deserve it tbh. And it also helps that the extraction shooter genre is absolutely not my cup of tea. Helps with the boycotting part from my side lol.

2 답변Lol it was so funny how they specifically mentioned "dedicated servers" in the video. As if that's something special these days and not the expected norm for a AAA studio with this kind of funding. Dont get me wrong, I love this game but the service basics are absolutely Disgusting.

5 답변The SBMM CBMM argument is pointless when Bungie never executed either of them with any level of competence. Skill based match making in a peer to peer game is pointless. If everyone is equally skilled, then the advantage goes to whoever won the connection lottery and has the least lag. With connections being equal, the most skilled player has the advantage. Both outcomes are bad, and it’s because this game has no competitive integrity. Neither system is inherently flawed, Destiny pvp is just a dead end.

If Bungie uses the same game engine and does seasons i am sure the game will not do well. I know I wont support another Bungie game if thats the case. They take to long to make any changes and leave things broken for far to long in PvP. 3-4 seasons of SMGs and 2 tap pulse rifles is stupid. Along with FOMO and seasonal content. I have zero reason to play.

6 답변작성자: Meow Fairy 6/7/2023 7:08:16 PMI would never buy another bungie game. Even f2p i wouldnt even play it. I love destiny but i truly hate what bungie has done to d2. It was a pure jewel and bungie just used it as an an&l plug. They can take their new IP and shove it up their arses.

1 답변작성자: LouieMags4 6/6/2023 2:03:01 PM100%. Bungie has neglected PvP and the PvP community for years now. Amazing that a company with such deep roots as the Halo franchise could forget the very community that thrusted them into the forefront all those years ago. Moving 90% of their PvP team to Marathon should tell you all you need to know about their view of Destiny PvP: the return is not worth the investment. They’ve given up on it and they expect their fan base to simply overlook that fact and pick up Marathon as if the neglect never occurred. It’s a joke and a complete slap in the Destiny PvP community’s face.

1 답변작성자: Coal 6/5/2023 9:24:40 PMWhen I found out that Marathon is going to be a PVP extraction shooter, I could not have laughed harder. They completely botched Destiny’s pvp, and think they can lean completely into a pvp ONLY game?! Who is making these calls at Bungie?!

I don't think anyone who loves this game will buy anything marathon. I will give the obvious chance of people trying it out. But to say Bungie has put distrust and distaste in our mouths over destiny would be an understatement. All the firepower in bungies utility belt has been pushed over to this big what if rather than something they know is good. It legit makes no sense. Especially considering all the push and pull it has taken to get to something remotely viable to be called even footing/good spot. Destiny (as I've said before) could've been the: End all is all Of fps games. But they treat it as nothing more than a glorified cash cow. I'll eat my words when they overhaul destiny in the future and make good on their promises they've given us since destiny 1 vidoc 1 but till then this is the milk crate I stand on.

1 답변Destiny 2 is already an extraction shooter, the moment I get into a game of Pvp I'm looking to get out of it :D
