Completely disagree.
Explain how it shows any more mastery of the content to have to marathon the boss for 10+ damage phases when three players can do it in 1-2.
I’m not saying it should just be 1/3 of normal health if you are solo but losing a little of that beefiness doesn’t change how well you’ve mastered the mechanics and cadence of the encounters.
I think my solo flawless run of spite took like 10 phases on Akelious and maybe 7 on Persys. After about 5 I’m asking myself why when it takes my regular dungeon crew 2 most times.
Because Akelious is a test of endurance not DPS, with minimal ad spawn
While Persys is nearly the same thing but with maximum ad spawn and almost requiring constant movement
Being able to do it yourself without needing a teammate to revive you if you die or save you shows a level of mastery. Yea the game is team-based, but the idea is for solo mastery.
Why are you wondering it takes less damage phases with more people you have 2 other people dealing damage, having their own buffs and possibly applying debuffs as well. Like its a no brainer why it takes less. If something like the harpy boss took 4 phases id be a joke. Same for the Wyvern boss.
Why does doing something 10 times flawlessly in a row to beat it show solo mastery but doing it 5 doesn’t?
You didn’t answer my question beyond saying it shows endurance… which is fine except that same argument is the argument people have been making about the difficulty changes for patrols/Avalon in Lightfall. Having to use an entire mag to kill a red bar harpy with an auto was ridiculous tuning.
How is that different from having to do damage to the boss 10-12 times instead of 2 with a team?
There is also a big difference in the solo strategies for boss damage between classes.
Hunters have it pretty easy with multiple damage buffs available with high damage one and done supers.
Warlocks have it easy with a well and any weapon damage.
Titans have basically bonk hammer buff to weapons which can be inconsistent with missed shots or TC with Falling star and weapon damage to supplement which is riskier but more consistent with less damage.
