Being buried does matter, or it should. The Ghost needs access to the remains to scan then chose and resurrect. That’s why Uldrens corpse was left to rot on a table above ground. Which makes no sense but left him available for his Ghost to scan him and bring him back. And after the bonding, they can revive you from nothing but until they bond, they need to access the remains. Otherwise they wouldn’t have to search for people.
