Destiny 2 is an insult to our valuable time.

- Crafting: 5 weeks of timegated raiding required for one guaranteed weapon pattern. ONE. Then it requires 17 raid weapon deletions for the frame masterwork, 2 alloys and 5.500+ resonant elements which are acquired by leveling up red border weapons. 50 kills each for 300 mats. capped at 10k. Then you need to do 2000+ weapon kills, no matter if it's a primary, special weapon or heavy. TWO THOUSAND with a sniper rifle. Let all that sink in. That's just one system. - Material sinks with expensive golf balls and shard costs. Weapon focusing costs WAY too much. I easily burned through 30.000 legendary shards the season trials received focusing. New players are lucky to even save up 1.000 shards. - Drop rates are abysmal these days. I ran 35 legendary lost sectors with plat score before, without a single exotic drop. Every nightfall difficulty besides Grandmaster is a waste of time cause even master drop rates for nf weapons can be lower than 20 %. That's 100 minutes of nightfalls for one weapon drop. - Seasonal story is timegated, "forcing" us to login every single week for 2+ months every single season. All for zero reward and a trash tv drama story. - Core playlists/ritual playlists haven't had any significant changes since D2 launched in 2017. They even got content, strikes, pcp maps and gambit maps removed. Yet we need to play these playlists at every given chance for events, bounties, quest progression and when seasons slow down. (Which happens on day 2 every season) - reissues everywhere of content that we already paid for and grinded for. Example: Eyasluna/austringer, bought D1, grinded eyasluna, D1 left behind, D2 releases. Bought D2 season of oppulence, grinded austringer (which is eyasluna), oppulence and austringer got vaulted/sunset, bought 30th anniversary dungeon, grinded eyasluna again, bought season of haunted, grinded another non sunset austringer. - Same challenges/season pass/xp grinds every single season. 200+ hours of xp grind needed every single season to even be able to play grandmaster nightfalls. - Abysmal drop rates for raid exotics (only for players who play a lot anyways) - their algorythm is programmed to give new/returning players satisfaction by an early and easy raid exo drop while long term players get no drop for months and months cause they know these players will play anyways = free playtime. - No desirable in game achievable cosmetics because of the heavy focus on eververse. Armor for in game content gets intentionally designed in an ugly way to sell the good looking one in the store. - To not waste your time and my time even more, i will stop here but i could keep going for another 6000 words easily. This company is literally treating us as sheep, milking us dry and giving zero respect to our valuable time.

      • And has been for years! Basically since the release of Destiny 2 when they made us slower, when there we no random rolls to chase, etc. Now it is nothing more than a hamster wheel called the Pinnacle grind: 3 Gambit, 3 Crucible, 3 Strikes, etc, etc.

      • As a person who loves the game but is tired of it being a second job I agree. I had to quit, I just can't prioritize a game over family and life in general. This is where I'm supposed to go to relax and have fun, not worry about whether or not I'll finish up something before the content goes away. There's still a lot of FOMO, don't care what Bungie says to the contrary.

          • The RNG has gotten unreasonable. It doesn’t respect time investment. It’s insulting at this point. Especially with raid exotics.

I agree with almost all of your points and that's why, knowing that the game won't change, I changed my approach to the game. I log in, do the weekly story activities, play a little more of any activity that I feel like playing and I log out until next week. I stopped getting frustrated or feeling that I was just wasting time playing the game. I do what I like when I want, and IF I want. And inbetween? There are so many other great games to play.

All for zero reward and a trash tv drama story.[/quote] Only gonna touch on this one because it's only going to be one of 2 ways to do it, which both provide issues. 1: Weekly beats, like episodes in a TV season. Such with most TV episodes, it's about 30m of content a week. People play it and leave, complain that it's being dripfed. 2: Content Dump. People devour it in one sitting and then complain there's nothing to do. Blammed if you do, Blammed if you don't, but one keeps people returning for at least one day a week that also ties well into their weekly reset and hotfix schedule.

Crafted weapons quite literally are the best weapons in the game without debate, literally once you craft all raid weapons there is 0 reason to ever do that raid again for guns. The grind exists so you continue to do the raid and have a reason. Stop crying about a system that lets you create a gun that you might never swap off of because its so good (such as forebearance)

            • I would have quit a long time ago if fomo didn't trigger my anxiety like crazy, I get really into the story each new year then its stale for the next 3 seasons but I still play because of fomo. I personally think we'd all be better off if bungie would axe fomo from the game entirely and let you grind old season passes for gear and loot long after those seasons are gone so you could take a much needed break when you feel like it and come back when you want too. Because I don't know about anyone else but this constant grind is not good for my mental health and it makes me hate myself more for not being able to quit than I hate bungie for their bs antics.

            • I left Destiny 2 for about a year or two, and it was a much needed break from the game. I started on a new account and have been enjoying my time much more now that I don't listen to FOMO or Chads. The only grind that's really worth it is the grind for better armor. The guns are fun, but not really grindworthy. I'm happy to see exotics going back to basics, though, or at least it seems like they've gone back to basics - instead of grinding 2,000 hours into Crucible to unlock a certain exotic, it seems that I can just work toward getting it randomly, or getting it from the exotics storage. The OPTION is what I've always wanted, not a mandate. But that's just me! As someone with limited gaming time these days, some of the grind could be cut back, but that would also leave out some of the "hardcore" players that do enjoy the 5 week grind to get one (1) weapon. Me, I just wanna shoot things with friends and get emblems and junk that I can play with. I don't care about having the best stuff anymore. Remember when "Play the way you want" used to be the thing that Destiny ads said? Go back to that format. Play the way YOU want. You may have to sacrifice some things to do so, but I promise that it's worth it.

            • Going way back in time, a lot of us bought Destiny mostly or at least partly because we liked Halo and respected Bungie as the maker of Halo. We quickly saw some of th differences. We expected space magic from how Destiny was advertised, but also, light level (now power level) and the overall variety of classes/subclasses, weapons and armor made the game very noticeably different. For some, this was positive, for others, it was negative. I am sure some people tried Destiny early on and quit almost immediately. For those who continued playing, including myself, we realized quickly that it was a grind. With Halo, as a reminder, you did not level up the Master Chief. And you did not get new weapons (kind of during the campaign you did but not in PvP) and you never upgraded your armor. In Halo, we spent our time on the campaign and then in PvP, we simply played the game. One Spartan was identical to another Spartan, aside from who was holding the Xbox controller in his/her hand. This changed slightly over time with some minor upgrades and cosmetic changes, but remained generally true at least relative to Destiny. With Destiny, if you wanted to maximize what your characters could do, you needed to put time into it to build level and materials, and master the relatively huge array of abilities, weapons etc. For example, you had to choose your armor based on ability modifiers. It is many levels of complexity higher. This made Destiny addictive in a new way, and like any addiction, there are down sides. Many players including me have felt burned out on the game, in my case repeatedly. I tend to play for a few months and then take a break for six months plus. My longest break was over a year. To put my breaks in context, I solo'd Crota and ran KF often enough that I became a volunteer sherpa for the raid, but now in D2, I have not done a single raid and I have never been at max power level yet in D2. Destiny/Destiny 2 forces you to run to stay in place. And then, you question whether it was worth it. I realized at some point that I could get 95% of the stuff with about 50% of the effort. Right now, I am getting more like 75% of the stuff with 25% of the effort. If you are the type of person who needs god rolls on everything, you can't do that. You will put in 100% of the effort to get 100% of the stuff. And you will hate Bungie for it. Halo never had this aspect of needing to manage your own addiction. I think that is the reason that so many people play Destiny/D2 so much and yet act as though they hate it. For your mental health and your enjoyment of this game, I would suggest that you stop playing today and come back to it around Easter. You need to control your relationship with this game or you'll hate it and not know why you are grinding and yet you're grinding.

                The only time I waste on this game anymore is on this forum because it's way more entertaining than D2 ever was. This Bungie is just another business that you are referring to, and it's why I don't play often. It's actually hard to even want to log in knowing how poorly the structure of the game actually is. One of the worst I have ever played. I gave them a chance and waited to see how they would do for a while after Activision left and it was in plain sight that this Bungie without someone babysitting them as Activision had to, and is the only reason anything got done that this Bungie doesn't have what it takes for a game like this and never will. They are only riding off of the original Bungie work. They have brought nothing to the table on their own, just the same old rinse-and-repeat. That's not a developer/company, that's just another business in gaming that has offered nothing to the gaming world.

                • It’s ridiculous and will only get worse. That’s why I haven’t played in a while. If they don’t improve by Lightfall I think I’ll be on a permanent hiatus.
