Let’s think about this title for a second
Player Vs Enemy/AI
What’s elite about shooting ads? The fact we have this in the Destiny community kinda explains a lot. The devs drove this elite behaviour and mindset
Remember when Gally was the only gun that could get you in a Crota raid? Well they’ve fully cultivated that elite mindset to keep ppl wanting what they don’t have. FOMO, and even whe they say “we’re moving away from FOMO” it’s so deeply baked into their design it’s everywhere on multi levels.
It also makes you think, if they knowingly have been using these practices, are they responsible for the mental health of its player base and affects the game has on them?
I mean gambling has a strict set of laws that stop similar targeted behaviours, if the same was applied to gaming would bungie be viewed as good or evil?

Ethically they are "responsible", but that's not much worth these days. Bungie has a specific contract (signed by everybody starting the game for the first time) disengaging them from their responsibility with it.
As much as I like the game, there's no other company I know working "radical" as Bungie with his content. They make it very clear that they sell just access.
We live in interesting times today. People are being more critical than ever. If "we" would be satisfied, people would take it with a smile, but not with all what's going on around us. I really wonder why some companies and his "salesman" are forget that.
Yes, by it’s design it’s purposely set up the greatest motivator for addictive behavior ~ random reward.
This is why gambling for some is addictive.
However it’s only addictive if the rewards are worth it in Destiny. In D1 people would grind for Fatebringer, Vex Mythocast and Vision of Confluence. Still great guns in D2.
In D2 I am not feeling the same about gear/weapons from specific activities.
So maybe they toned it down a bit or they’re losing their touch with all these nerds?
