Half of the complains aren’t necessarily about the rework being bad, hell I doubt anything will be as bad as what happened to dawnblade. Many of the complains about the warlock rework is that it feels lazy when compared to the hunter and Titan reworks. They described arc warlocks as “lightning shamans” but didn’t do much to help that fantasy. They could have leaned harder into the teleportation abilities from ionic blink and the new melee to create a kind of hit-and-run playstyle or they could have leaned towards long range lightning casting like traditional ball lightning. Hell, that one Titan aspect that buffs grenades feels like it’s storm grenade affect would have been perfect as a new warlock ability. It feels like they didn’t really lean into either direction and instead gave a very lukewarm combination of the two that doesn’t really specialize in much beyond basic ad clear.
A long-range ball lightning melee and a Rift rework/alternative would have been more like it.
Giving us back Perpetual Charge from D1, would have been more inline with Lightening Shaman.
Grenade Energy back on Melee kills and Melee Energy back on Grenade kills.
(Hunters Melees/Dodges) if you spec right, giving u Melees back on Dodges seems pretty balanced if Warlocks get energy back when Kill STUFF, VERSUS energy back when rolling within 10 feet of an enemy.
Also Hunter Melee, leaves a 2m DOT/A.O.E but can be regained using a Dodge.
There was no play-testing Cleary when they made the ARC UPDATE.
Any one with reading comprehension can tell.
Bungie got lazy on the Warlock. Or ran out of time in the Content Crunch the week before Release.
