borderlands wannabe
Borderlands is a borderlands wannabe. If you honestly think Destiny is anywhere close in comparison to Borderlands anyway you should probably get your eyes checked.

 • Same base model with different casing as "different weapons" as if it's 2009 where guns in the first borderlands is same model with different coloring. Borderlands 2 was released and they made each manufacturer have their own model and reload animation, complete with exclusive perks to make them unique and different. What do we get from destiny 2 after 5 years? Still the same base model and reload, just different in casings and origin trait that is way too long for them to add, almost 8 years to add something exists from a game 2 years older than this series. Armor is basically just a stat stick now that you have transmog and there's still no identity from armor whatsoever. Content? Chopped into pieces and price tags everywhere, I get a complete game with borderlands Yeah, destiny is nowhere close to borderlands level
Borderlands 2 was released and they made each manufacturer have their own model and reload animation
But they do the same in D2 though? Veist has side loaded weapons or P90 style smgs. Tex Mechanica while it only has 1 legendary gun favours older weapon designs and has a unique reload animation on its shotgun. Foundry exotics also have their own unique reload animations like Sweet Business or Colony. Borderlands 2 has the exact same animations within that foundry for every single gun you find including legendaries, pearls or effervescent weapons.
Armor is basically just a stat stick now that you have transmog and there's still no identity from armor whatsoever.
That is why they are adding unique perks to certain armor sets to give incentive in using them like artiface armor or stuff like increases vestiges on haunted armor.
Content? Chopped into pieces and price tags everywhere, I get a complete game with borderlands
Nope not unless you buy the expansions just like Destiny. Borderlands 2 was the only good game in the series the rest are mid or trash, with Borderlands 3 being god awful not only in story but also the gameplay itself. They couldn't even add Pearls to BL3 lmao.

Borderlands 2 has the exact same animations for weapons of that manufacturer, not all across the weapon class like destiny. What's the difference in animation between hakke, suros and omolon auto rifle/smg? None, compared to maliwan, dahl or hyperion assault rifle or smg and we're not going to other weapon class like shotgun or rocket launcher yet
That is why they are adding unique perks to certain armor sets to give incentive in using them like artiface armor or stuff like increases vestiges on haunted armor.
Better late than never I guess
Nope not unless you buy the expansions just like Destiny. Pearls is an extension from common to legendary rarity which doesn't disrupt the flow of progression if you don't have it compared to destiny where you get barely anything if you don't buy any DLC

Though if you tallied up the unique reload animations across all weapons in D2 and Borderlands they'd be pretty close to the same amount I'd say. Bungie does want more weapon identity between the foundries but its not that important as this isn't borderlands. But if you don't own the DLC in BL2 you can't unlock as much of the skill tree and get higher level gear. Also, if you could play on the higher levels and stuff without DLC you'd still be pretty SoL since you have no grognozzle for health regen. Pearls were a big thing in Borderlands, and Borderlands 1 while it had pearls by the time you were farming them there was nothing to use them on that was relevant to the player. But anyway Borderlands 3 couldn't even add a blue coloured rarity because of memory issues, which I think is a cop out excuse for the poor management of the progression of BL3 as there isn't even a point to playing the Second Playthrough like there was in previous games. Destiny gives you plenty of great gear without paying a single penny, straight out the gate they give you an Overflow + Explosive Payload Night Watch. Then you can farm any of the world pool gear which is extremely strong and you can farm Dares of Eternity for 30th loot. You can play VoG to get a fatebringer, and you can get access to all Year 1 exotics and some others I believe? Anyway, I think comparing Borderlands to Destiny is a bad comparison because while they might have some similarities like having rarity tiered loot they are 2 completely different games as Borderlands is a local/online 4 player coop game while Destiny is an online game/mmo-lite.

I don't think it's close to same amount and it's questionable why they make things similar if not for easy reuse (the lazy way)
Eh, I wouldn't say Tiny Tina's DLC is a spinoff since it actually expands upon how the character would feel from the base game that you don't really get to see in the main campaign of BL2. I'd say no because you get the full story from start to finish, not just two hours story that end in such an uninteresting ending
Borderlands 3 couldn't even add a blue coloured rarity because of memory issues, which I think is a cop out excuse for the poor management of the progression of BL3 as there isn't even a point to playing the Second Playthrough like there was in previous games.
Do I need to remind you about bungie's cop out excuse to remove paid content, sunsetting and reissued weapons, not to mention chopping contents off to sell, reused assets from the first game that they didn't even bother to bring out entirely, resold content and many more? And what's the point on playing destiny 2 when all you get is constant power grind and doing it on years old content?
Destiny gives you plenty of great gear without paying a single penny, straight out the gate they give you an Overflow + Explosive Payload Night Watch. Hell, we even have pets, giant mechs and spaceship battle in Warframe and they're free
