Overrated BTS. If you ask me BTS=BS

I'd say Nickelback is underrated. It's strange because they were huge for a while, then everyone just randomly decided that they suck out of nowhere. Not like a "I liked their old stuff better" situation either; the world just decided that the band has always been terrible.

Overrated: The Beatles. Am I the only one that thinks that they have a few good songs but the rest kinda sound like trash? Underrated: Jethro Tull. Instrumentally talented. They actually sound real. Multi-genrel. Fantastic progressive rock.

Overrated: AC/DC Everything they play sounds exactly the same. [i]Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be[/i] is a banger though. Others: Guns N Roses Avenged Sevenfold Underrated: Jefferson Airplane Criminally so these days. Everybody knows them for [i]White Rabbit[/i] and [i]Somebody to Love[/i], but those are far from being their best numbers. At the time they were big enough to headline the Saturday night at Woodstock (ended up being like 8AM Sunday because other bands overran), and if you go and listen to any of their live sets you’ll hear why. The stuff they did afterwards and when Jefferson Starship/Starship came about is a different beast entirely, and technically not actually the same band at all.

BTS is very very overrated and you can’t change my mind.

Overrated: Harry styles Underrated: Mei Semones

Disagree. Kurt Cobain has had a mythology created around him, which is what seems to happen whenever someone very talented dies prematurely. But Nirvana? Not overated. Like the Star Wars, you have to understand the times, to understand their impact. Compared to other bands, and other music at the time....Nirvana was like getting hit in the face with a frying pan....and with "Nevermind" it was like getting beaten with that frying pan as one fresh, raw and incredible sounding tune came after another. There are just some artists and groups that are so ground-breaking that your reaction to first hearing them is "WOW....who IS that?" There music doesn't sound as remarkable looking back 30 years, because so many other people have copied aspects of it. But at the time? OMG. Overated? Someone most of you have never heard of, but the music world worshipped the ground that walked on for about 5 years: Wynton Marsalis. Wynton is one of five (?) brothers from one **criminally** talented musical family out of New Orleans. The father was a professional jazz musician, and all five of his kids became professional jazz musicians. Branford was the best of the 5. He became one of the best saxophonists of his generation...and arguably in the history of jazz (a tough feat when you're playing the backyard of greats like John Coltrane). In addition to jazz, he did a lot of crossover work in the pop world. Which made a lot of jazz snobs angry. But he didn't care. He just kept his head down, keep creating and kept pushing the boundaries of the music. Wynton, OTOH, was young. Brash. With tons of opinions on how everyone (but him of course) was doing it wrong. How everyone need to be going back and "proving" themselves with standard tunes and "moving the tradition forward". Miles Davis got so sick of his mouth and his attitude that he basically told the kid to shut up. My dad was a huge jazz fan so I would hear Miles, Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and other greats playing in the house during the evenings when I was young. While being wild praised by critics, all that I heard from Wynton was music that was stale, unemotional....and like someone trying to sound like Dizzy Gillespie. In short, he was bringing nothing NEW to the music....and time proved it. The world quickly lost interest in him and his music. Fortunately he eventually grew up and dropped the attitude. He is now----what I thought he would eventually become----a conservationist of OTHER people's creative works. A valuable role in music. But one that never warranted the out of control ego of his youth.

I’d say rubber bands are pretty overrated. They hurt if you use them in your hair, and most uses for them in the office can be accomplished better by something else.

I have literally never listened to music and thought it was overrated. I enjoy basically all music. Skillet can go burn- Underrated? Definitely like Ion said, but also: Tungsten Majestica Avantasia Freedom Call Battle Beast (i.e. any Power Metal band. I have not listened to absolutely all of them, but all the ones I have deserve as much fame as a band like Sabaton or Dragonforce. Yes, I love both of those bands, too.)
