By completing some Scan Patrols on the Derelict Leviathan, Calus talked about became somehow fused with the Leviathan and the fact that now he shares a deep connection with the Loyalists. An audio recording in the H.E.L.M by Caiatl says that the Loyallists on the Leviathan were cloned, devoided of their highest brain functionalities, like slaves obbeying to someone's will.
I was wondering if this is all connected. Calus became somehow fused with the Egregore Fungi (or maybe, he IS the Egregori Fungi itself, like this is his new form), the spores infecting the Loyalists minds and by overgrowing all over the Leviathan he somehow fused with it too.
Any opinions? I'm writing this post by recalling what I've heard these days, so maybe I've mistundrstood something.

I recommend checking out the Myths and Ztories lore podcast. They tend to cover stuff like this in depth

I'm still expecting it to be a Wizard if Oz situation. When we finally see Calus' true form, he will be as small as those bobbleheads we collect.

Based on various lore, I suspect that calus is a bodiless entity, spirit, and he uses the fungi to link his mind to the leviathan. His end goal seems to be a new body made from the leviathan. Glykon lore mentioned calus's body was on the verge of death. Then after his meeting with the Witness he seems to have become a spirit. A scan patrol talks about how the fungi links different dimensions and can connect a user to the darkness.

Maybe this has been going on for a long time and the skull puking ghostface calus from the raid was actually calus himself who shed his living body.

I’d say turning him into a fungus you use to bypass doors is a rather odd way to use a prominent character. He was transforming long before the fungus was on the ship. If I recall, this was back in base D1.
