Seeing a pattern here where each season you all (Bungie) are focusing on different aspects of the game to improve QoL and general gameplay. I know this is fairly new but I did want to point out that there are some long standing activities that have not had an update in quite a while.
I could go on the strike rant of we need strike specific loot but im pretty sure this has been heard and either ignored or is well on the back burner. What I do want to bring up is public events. These things are long over due for a refresh. You had the model with Escalation Protocal. Make Public events an escalating thing leading to some big event. Turn X ammount heroic and you get some epic event. Simple idea to spice up an otherwise forgotten game mechanic. Special rewards would be cool but not necessary.
Another game mechanic that's beyond over due for a refresh. Patroles. You are aware these still exist right? You could really use the above tactic where one patrole leads into another each escalating with dificulty until "Boss Battle". Hopefully not two tokens and a blue situation with the rewards.
I bring these up cause with the current weapon crafting system leveling weapons is a real chore. Our options for grinding weapons are A. Suro Chi, B. Play the game and 5 years from now get the perks we wanted. C. Grind the above activities or lost sectors for hours on end. It really is pretty limited due to the champion system and having to run specific stuff in endgame activities.
Better yet you could not do anything with rewards for above mentioned refreshes but you could offer X multiplier on crafted weapon exp. This would give an outlet to people looking to actually use this new system and enjoy older stuff that has been forgotten about.
Make the weekly strike pinacle and 8 zavala bounties reward into a skeleton key.
And the reset reward from zavala into a skeleton key.
With a chance of key drops in nightfalls.
Every nightfall has a locked box that can be opened with a skeleton key .
Box should be strike specific or the weekly NF weapon.
