Refining the Core: The “Death” of the Power Grind and Collections, the Better Vault
So I haven't touched the Forums in a long time, but I spent the week typing up this idea(s) I've had for how Destiny is theoretically in a position to do away with grinding power on an RNG level, and let the game deal with difficulty settings through the kinds of Difficulty selection present today. Also possible with this is a ways to use crafting as a foundation for Collections to allow reobtaining Random Rolled Weapons and Armor as promised before Forsaken launched in such a way that could empower it to replace the Vault entirely and end space issues for good.
So I'm cross-posting the Reddit posts because I wanted to share to the only other place I can.

I disagree with the power grind part, I think they have made it pointless but you are going in the complete wrong direction, the game is an RPG and there is no quicker way to kill an RPG than to take away the grind. Instead it should be harder than ever to level up, in D1 it was impossible without hours upon hours of dedication to hit max light without raiding, it should take ages to level up. Power shouldn’t be something maxed out in week 2 of a new expansion.
