The game really lacks a place for new, or less talented players to get started with PvP. Jumping into 6v6 as a F2P player, for example, is a super discouraging experience. Not only are new players at a gear disadvantage, the chaos that is 6v6 offers little opportunity for inexperienced players to develop basic skills like positioning and awareness because of the absolute breakneck pace of the game and the lethality of special weapons. It's often difficult to understand what lead to a death and learn from it, even if a new player has a strong, learning mentality.
I've heard that there's a PvP community out there specifically for folks with sub-1 KDs to learn and get their bearings, but I don't know the name of it.
I, as a career 2.4kd player, do not need to be playing against kinderguardians, even in QP. Most of my lobbies are myself and one other high-stat player on the other team racing to see who can farm the low-skill teammates the fastest.

A kindergartner moves though mine sit there and quit out. I’m constantly fighting 3-6 good players and I get one player that can actually play. On average I have a 75% chance to lose and I lose over and over because I can’t win with people just starting the game and afks. The odds of this happening darn near 70% of my games. Pretty good kd but I’m lowest elo tier because of my stats force me against people my skill or higher and give me low skill but higher elo because they can win games because they aren’t expected to carry. Garbage matchmaking indeed.
