One of the biggest things- for me, anyway- was, in no particular order:
the inclusion of the LFG system from the app into the game, the removal of all currency/reward caps, precise language on stats/buffs/anything that relied on numbers, shared progress across all characters, the auto-opted in game-wide clan (and the smaller offshoot councils being a good replacement for the old clan system), the stat squash and all stat numbers contributing, but, honestly?
It's the dedicated official game server and backend update to handle denser enemy populations, more player interactions, and deeper exploration of a game world begging for a larger peek directly into the face of the curtain outside of a digital library.

In a perfect world? The fact that they finally built the fps MMO they pitched for Destiny in 2011. 6-24 man raids that require proper leadership and team work as well as an in game economy powered by the sale of gear, weapons and consumables either found in the wild by rng or crafted through grinding would be the best parts of it
