Are you getting a CE error when the crash occurs? If so that means your hard drive honestly is going bad or your database (OS as PS calls it) is really acting wonky and you need to rebuild it.

Technically the PS5 actually has 6 on board SSD chips and not a HDD, but they do ultimately serve the same purpose. A CE error is when your console gives a blue screen with an “error occurred” message - this will give an error code beginning with the letters CE. Whilst it is possible that your console has faulty storage, it is highly unlikely. You can find instructions via this link to rebuild your consoles database, I would advise doing this if your problem persists. Rebuilding the database is perfectly safe and, unless there is something majorly wrong, will not delete any of your data (games, videos etc). There are plenty of videos to be found on YouTube if you do not feel confident following written instructions alone. It’s also worth cleaning your PS5 regularly to prevent overheating, it’s amazing how much dust can accumulate. This is a especially important if you keep your console in a tight enclosure. Cleaning the PS5 is nice and easy, just pop the faceplates off as shown here and brush the dust away.
