It has happened once before. Jaren Ward’s Ghost “switched” to Shin Malphur, who most likely also had a Ghost when he was a baby.
That said, Shin Malphur and the lore surrounding him always has been a mystery but for now, yes, Ghosts can “switch.”

i heard 1 other poster describe in minimal detail the event when shin's apparent 1st ghost died trying to protect him when he was a baby... and that jared's ghost was able to bridge with him because he possessed the travellers light. the og poster has yet to provide the source for this backstory tho... are you able to? you said "...supposedly..." so you aren't sure either right? it's actually very pivotal info that would help in determining if the traveller can use its ghosts to enchant anyone/everyone multiple times throughout their lives.

작성자: Shockwave 989 4/4/2022 7:34:36 PMThe main connection is that both Jaren Ward and Dredgen Yor saw something special about Shin, which leads people to believe that he was the child still with some remnant of the Traveler’s Light in him. It would also explain why Shin’s Ghost was able to become his without the need of Shin dying. Especially considering his link to Jaren was severed thanks to his Light being drained by Thorn. It’s a really stupid and contrived plot but it at least seems to line up.

nah, it's brilliant imo. maybe we will see later and maybe we won't. i am excited in suspense mode, which rarely happens for me these days and im not even a boomer! the trifecta of jared, shin and dredgen creates a personification of 'the winter triangle' (sirius, procyon, betelgeuse). for me at least. check out the mythology of those stars and associated constellations of canis major, canis minor and orions belt. in doing so it might shed some light as to why these characters are so important.

작성자: Centaur-1 4/4/2022 7:19:07 PMShin’s first resurrection as a child was detailed in “a Confession of Hope pt. 1.” It has not been 100% confirmed that it’s Shin being resurrected but that’s the most common and accepted theory I’ve seen. The rest of Shin’s story, starting as a young boy with no evident light in him to being the Man With the Golden Gun was in the First Grimoire Anthology after the Books of Sorrow but I’m not sure what the lore itself was called. I believe each part of his story was named after the Last Word, Thorn, and Rose in unknown order. So Shin is either the first guardian to have two ghosts or the first guardian to not die before being chosen. Either way, he’s got a lot going for him.

no doubt about that! he is the most important character in the game imo. i could be saying that because there is so little i know about him and i want to know everything. he is one of the few characters that i jive with. im assuming he is still present in the current timeline... just lurking in the shadows. i can't wait for his big entrance on the scene!
