"Optional" crafting.
Nothing has changed except giving you a direct source to aquire rolls, rather that relying solely on RNG, which you can still do.
You'd think humanity would become more efficient when being given a route to easy accessibility, however this isn't the case. People just adjust the goal posts. Nothing is more efficient, you just have more time to do more work.
"Optional" crafting. Nothing has changed except giving you a direct source to aquire rolls, rather that relying solely on RNG, which you can still do.

rather that relying solely on RNG

solely on RNG
Call me crazy…. Who the hell am I fooling? I’m nuttier than a fruitcake! Where was I? Oh, right. The breakdown of your post. It shows… how can I put this nicely?… that you neither read the post NOR have experienced this atrocity of game design personally. As of right now crafting is worse than farming. It’s RNG (get the drop?) on top of RNG (does it have deepsight) on top of RNG (still need to get 2-4 more of them) on top of RNG (each of those 2-4 drops ALSO need deepsight) with an additional bit of grinding (I have had a handful of bugged drops that only progress on kills) which then leads to more grinding/leveling (now that I can craft it, I must level it). -blam!- Bungie this is just insulting. Do you value our time so little as to do this? This doesn’t even sound good or fun on paper, and the reality of it is WORSE! Crafting needs to be taken out, re-examined and re-introduced with something that at least respects the player’s time and commitment because right now it shits on both. Crafting feels like a punishment. No game should EVER feel like that.

작성자: TheArtist 4/3/2022 8:46:21 PMClose, but not quite. (Nice to see someone who understands the role of crafting in a game like this, and WHY it can't be "simple and easy" like it is in actual crafting games.) The people who are complaining are the people who want the game's rewards...but want to engage with the game as little as possible. I'm betting that most of them are either people who just endlessly complain and nothing will ever please them..... ...or they are PvP players who just don't want to have to engage with the RPG elements of the game. They just want to unlock their god roll as fast as possible and get back to PvP. Which is not how this game works, or how its ever going to work.

Or have quests to unlock weapons for crafting. Adding RNG to crafting is lazy, and pointless. Let’s run a million wells to just get one drop, when you need five of those one drops. Crafting is a great idea, and should allow us to craft any weapon that has been in the game. RNG to get the drop to start the possible craft. Stupid. There are far more efficient ways, with the same kind of investment. This is typical for bungie. Over complicate a simple introduction of a system.
Adding RNG to crafting is lazy, and pointless.
No, it isn't. Its just not GIVING you what you want. But sometimes NOT giving the player what they want is what is best for the game.
Crafting is a great idea, and should allow us to craft any weapon that has been in the game.
Okay....and what's the point of playing the game for loot drops anymore if I can simply BUILD-A-GOD-ROLL?
RNG to get the drop to start the possible craft. Stupid.
Then tell that to Massive Entertainment. Because their crafting system is RNG based. You have to get the blueprints to craft weapons an armor as a "loot drop" in most cases. Why? So...once again....actually PLAYING THE GAME AS INTENDED is the most efficient way to get an item. While crafting is simply in teh game to act as a backstop against bad luck....or the lack of a efficient way to farm for a particular weapon. Oh...and what perks you get when you craft a weapon in The Division 2 is RNG. At least in Destiny you get to PICK which ones you want once they are unlocked.
-
You don’t get to pick till levels are reached. Fine. Have blue prints drop randomly from any activity. Not get the same damn item, from one activity. Again. There are far more efficient ways… Bungie has, and always will make things far more complexed than required. Because it is cheaper, and keeps numbers up. Crafting. Great. Execution poor.

작성자: TheArtist 4/3/2022 9:07:30 PM
You don’t get to pick till levels are reached
How DARE Bungie make us play the game to unlock its rewards........
Again. There are far more efficient ways… Bungie has, and always will make things far more complexed than required. Because it is cheaper, and keeps numbers up.
No, the problem is that you are so self-absorbed, and care so little about the health of the game that you can't wrap your head around the fact that the WORST thing Bungie could do would be to make crafting "more efficient".
Crafting. Great. Execution poor.
Actually, just the opposite. The fact that all of you are complaining so loudly about how "inefficient" it is, means that they've got it about right. Its there to be a backstop against bad luck or the lack of a focused grind if you really want to committ to it.... ...but otherwise the best way to get a good version of any weapon is to simply play the game and wait for a good drop. Which is exactly what a crafting system NEEDS to be in a healthy loot game.
-
So. Remove crafting and leave RNG drops? Crafting is about building, not requiring RNG to build. Make the different perks random drops to unlock. Again. Doing the exact same activity a million times with little chance at getting the drop. Pointless. Never once did I say there shouldn’t be an investment. But. Make the investment worth it. It’s almost like people have lost the fact of time vs energy. Again. Crafting great. Execution. poor. There are many ways bungie could have made it more efficient, and yet still require investment. They have worlds to make that happen. Not one, or two activities. People need to expand and see that. 🤷♂️ but I am stupid.

작성자: TheArtist 4/3/2022 9:17:22 PMNo...and you're not in a position to tell Bungie what to do with their game. Especially when its clear that you either don't understand (or simply don't care) what role it HAS to play in a game like this. What you want is a license to basically IGNORE all of the RPG elements of the game. So you can simply play whatever part of the game you want....whenever you want it...while still getting ALL of the game's rewards on YOUR timetable. Which is how you DESTROY a game like this. The fact that YOU CAN"T do that...and you're FRUSTRATED that you can't do it? Means that the systems been WELL-DESIGNED....and if functioning properly. If that is what you really want, then you are playing the WRONG game. You need to go play a game like Fallout 4 where you can build every thing you want. Or a story-driven game like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. But the GRIND is part of the replay value of a game like this. It is not a bug...or a flaw....IT IS THE POINT of loot games. ...and if you don't enjoy it, that's fine. Then its time for you to change games, rather than demand that Bungie build their game to your specifications.

작성자: TheArtist 4/3/2022 9:22:27 PMNo. I haven't. You want the game's rewards without having to play the game as intended by the developers. That player WISH, was one of my biggest concerns when Bungie said they were going to add crafting to the game. I wasn't sure how they were going to keep that player drive for "efficiency" from creating all manner of degenerate game play loops trying to get the game's rewards as a fast as possible. While BLOWING UP the game in the process. Bungie---to their credit---has found a way to do it. Playing the game for loot drops is still the most efficient way to play....but crafting is there for those who want a specific version of a specific weapon and RNG isn't cooperating. Which is PRECISELY the role crafting needs to fill in a healthy loot game. But the point is that you want what you want, and you really don't care what impact it has on the game.

작성자: TheArtist 4/3/2022 9:28:18 PMActually I'm the one done trying to get through to you. Let me put the dots REALLY close together: The replay value of ALL of those activities is rooted in the GRIND to optimize player builds by getting "perfect" or near-perfectly rolled weapons and armor. ...and an "efficient" crafting system would DESTROY the replay value of those activities. Because the best use of your time would be to start CRAFTING, rather than actually grinding those activities. Its really not that difficult of a concept. But the problem is that grasping it requires looking at the situation from a point of view that isn't self-absorbed and only concerned for what you want, when you want it.

So you missed where I gave multiple options. Got it. Never said make it easy, said make it efficient. Worlds to do that. Not one or two activists. Worlds…. Again. So many ways, with the exact same time investment, with out being boring. You can not use invest against me. I have two accounts with thousands of hours on each. Bungies RNG. Has. And always will be. An issue. Even they try to point protections in for it. Chow!

Doesn’t matter. Because you refuse to hear that what you WANT is the problem. It doesn’t matter what path you get there if the destination itself is the issue. A game like this CANNOT have any sort of “efficient “ crafting system. NONE of them do.
