The seasons that launched with a major expansion have never really been on par with the others, as the major expansion usually takes the spotlight.
Season of the Undying (Shadowkeep) saw us fighting the Undying mind over and over, with a finale that was disappointing to say the least.
Season of the Hunt (Beyond Light) did better story-wise, as it introduced Crow, and was the start of Savathun’s impersonation of Osiris. It’s finale was also nothing impressive, but at least the seasonal story that followed was good !
Season of the Risen (Witch Queen) is the continuation of the overall story, and in my opinion the best of those three seasons. True, the Elbrus quest ended quickly, and I hope we get more story through Vox Obscura maybe.
However, I am excited for what could come next, especially if Bungie delivers the same quality like what we had with Chosen / Splicer / Lost.
A safe bet would be a Rasputin season and a Calus season, but we’ll see !

Or Season of the Splicer is a copycat of Season of the Undying, since the Vex were the current threat at the time. I’m sure you’ll agree that the story, loot, setting, etc… was different from season to season though. I don’t mind them using major characters in multiple seasons, as long as it follows the story they’re building. I want a Shaxx season though lol
haha in PvE obviously ! I wanna see how Bungie can use that character in the story, other than him being a simple vendor. Just like the Drifter, who started as a simple vendor in Forsaken, then got used in Season of the Drifter, Season of Arrivals, and Beyond Light
