A foolish path Crow has taken. However It gives those fools the individuality to make decisions based on what they feel is the correct path rather than following the rallying cry of group bias.
If they're wrong they're wrong, but if not then that's where they shine the brightest. Take Savathûn for example, literally and figuratively.
He was given his memories back by Savathun to create doubt to begin with, which led him to pull the plug and accidentally kill Caital's Psion Emissary.
Which, as this is happening, a Psionic propaganda message in Vox Obscura is being sent out by followers of Calus.
Crow's "foolishness" is likely to have stopped the spy Caital or anybody else never would've found since you would never expect a friend to stab you in the back. Or at the very least, twice.
This is exactly what Savathûn was to her siblings. She took the unexplored path, where Xivu & Oryx took the more brutal path laid out for them. Wouldn't you say that at the time when Oryx was at his peak Savathûn was the foolish one? Until she wasn't. Oryx was killed and she obtained the Light legitimately.
And now she's extended that "foolishness" to Crow.
...
After Saladin's Conscription onto Caital's War Council, a detachment of her forces defected that being the stated reason. But that is just an odd coincidence. Why would you defect, where else would you go?
Maybe it's because the perfect spy was somehow incapacitated and there was no reason to stay.
But that could never happen, right?
Why would you defect, where else would you go?
Because many within her ranks disagreed with her forming an alliance with a former enemy (The Vanguard). Because many disagreed with HOW that alliance was formed and the terms under it was formed. Becasue many disagree with her methods in fighting the war with the Hive. Because the Psions have their own agenda. What it is, isn't very clear.
