Crucible, as it is right now, is a PVE sandbox. And it does not work.

Void 3.0 is a blatant reason as to why PVP needs a seperate sandbox that is GENERALIZED from PVE. Invisible hunters 1 shot void grenades perma-overshield titans The list goes on and on. Classes in PVP need to be normalized, and stats need to be baseline with no bonus'. A fair, competitive crucible would have: 1. No archetype stat differentiation. (a 140hc would be a 140hc, and have the same stats as every other 140hc) 2. No armor mods. 3. No weapon perks outside of a BASELINE set of perks for each archetype. 4. Subclasses would be set to a baseline kit, (Example: Warlocks would have a choice of Healing or Empowering Rift without any added subclass bonus' or exotic perks effecting them) This way, Balance changes of a single archetype would take minutes, not months, to apply and execute. Bungie's biggest weakness is their inability to decide what to do with crucible. Do we want a PVE crucible sandbox? Or... Do we want a TRUE balanced PVP sandbox?

  • Allow me to point out where you’ve gone wrong. Crucible is not meant to be a true competitive (MLG like) kind of experience. Sure it has modes for people who have a higher than average proficiency with the mechanics of the game. But it has always just been a sandbox to play with your PvE weapons and powers against other players. If Bungie wanted to make PvP a more balanced, Halo like experience, where everyone has more or less the same couple of loadouts and were locked in to very uniform power cool downs, if powers were allowed at all, they would do that. People have always and continue to take Destiny PvP far more seriously than they should. Bungie does tune things in PvP, but more so just to either bring something else up in power a bit, or to remove outliers that managed to make PvP a one loadout mode.

    We looking at this the wrong way it's not just the abilities that's a small part of it the main problem is build crafting in general why you think everyone getting they abilities back so quick with little effort because of high stats of discipline, resilience ,recovery, mobility Crucible need heavy restrictions on Regen,special ammo, abilities and certain broken exotic weapons Mods are ok it's just scavenger that's needs banned I said it last season that pvp is getting borderline Mayhem being too chaotic

    The problem are the maps and the organization for them within their specific or recommended playlists based off size and numbers of players. Take a loot at every single sandbox change done in the game. There has never been anything to address the designs for the maps. No clutter or expansion in space changes. No additional maps being added but smaller ones. I mean what did they change with Vostok and Eternity. Nothing I saw that was substantial or noticeable. Just been weapons, exotics and subclass changes to shift a META in favor of a more competitive and linear experience versus a fun and engaging one. Combined Arms being removed was the initial indicator of them leading towards this cancerous cycle.

  • Except that's closer on the lower end of what's really wrong with crucible. The biggest issues haven't been deal with in ages but they pump out subclasses thinking that makes things interesting and keeps people playing the mode.

    • game is fine people want to complain about not getting there way and it old. The game will never go anywhere until the undesireables of the community are silenced or outright ignored. We tried it your way in the ability nerf meta and yall turned to blame guns , no surprise. The same people crying about balance are the same ones crying about everything and its childish and pathetic. Abilities were already nerfed, ability support was nerfed, cooldowns were nerfed, and classes directly were nerfed yall are running out. Look inward if your still struggling or have an excuse than its you time to look in the mirror buildcraft and abilities is not why you lose in pvp its your lack of skill and laziness. The only ones complaining are newlights,bad players, and rusted sweatlords that refuse to adapt and change. Had it been yall way you'd turn this game to CoD or a crappy halo. Go play halo if you want halo or CoD if you want CoD destiny is not a replacement for crappy shooters it has its own thing but can;t stay because Bungie tries to be inclusive of those who can't accept that destiny ain't a pure shooter.

    • They tried some of what you said in D2 year 1 and people hated it. Static rolls on weapons. Very very dumbed down mod system to the point of there being no point in worrying about armor. And way way tuned down abilities. Destiny is not a competitive game regardless if they have a mode for it. It is a game about awesome abilities and cool weapons first and actual gun skill and elo second

      • 1) there's no point to getting good weapons if every single weapon is the same. that's also boring and there would be no variety. 2)you use armor mods in pvp? 3) same thing as 1. also if there were no weapon perks everything would be the same anyway, not sure why you listed two different things. 4) why? then theres no point. every sunclass would be the same, with the only defining factor being their classs ability and thier jumps. your also suggesting that you remove exotic armor from pvp. with all of those changes then its not exactly fun anymore anyway, and then that's not destiny pvp, that's shooting simulator. if you want shooting simulator go play fortnite. what really needs to happen is bigger maps where people cant easily shotgun or fusion someone, and scout rifles and snipers would be more dominant. destiny is only fun because we have those abilities and we have those subclass options. if you wanna take those away, go play fortnite.

        A mode similar to what you're saying might be fine but PvP overall doesn't need to be nearly that strict. A lot of the things you suggest don't necessarily end up giving someone an extreme advantage and can be used more to fit someone's playstyle or strengths vs. any limitations they may have. I think it would be better if certain things could just be acknowledged as being too strong. But I would certainly play a stripped down version of the game where everyone was more the same just to see what it was like. Its just that for me personally the way the sandbox and weapons are tuned isn't really where most of my problems come from these days.
