Well, as the name of the post says. I'd like to believe I'm really quite invested in Destiny lore as a whole, so, I thought it'd be fun to ask people what their favorite piece of lore of the game is (or even grander things, not just a weapon, but the story it has behind it.)
And to answer my own question, well, Felwinter's Lie and all that comes with it. His story is simply amazing, and tragic.
The tale of a man who sought knowledge about something that threatened him, only to find out he was so much more. And despite all this, even while being presented with the opportunity to flee, he chose to stay and help humanity regardless of what it took. Only to pay the final price, at the hands of a tyrant who only wanted his son back in the end.
Depends on the category.
For humor, I like the synopsis of the play someone made about our exploits. Where a guardian dresses up as our ghost and his ghost dresses up as us, and they act out our destiny 1 campaign.
At the end, Shaxx goes quiet and then asks why was it portrayed as so “romantic” (only using the sleazy word that the forums won’t allow). Another ghost rips apart the act structure. And our ghost is horrified at what he saw.
For exotics. I like graviton forfeit. How it deconstructs the popular point of view of “us being the good guys and the light being benevolent” into pointing out we are kind of the bad guys.
