Lol at that hotfix

So 'fixed an issue' where players could benefit from chest farming. Raised the costs of purchasing from collections because players were benefitting. But drop rates for red weapons in wellspring? We'll get back to ya... LOLZ. Never change Bungie.

  • Fynch still won't look at Qualichor for the second round of 5 Qualichor chests. Rahool Still won't sell Ascendant Alloy Strange Coin is dropping nowhere Nothing about drop rates for Wellspring But...we've disabled anything that benefits the player. Great "fix." Time to go find out if the "improved" overload mod works (not counting on it).

Its been a issue since day 1

            • And today's (Feb 4th) Hot Fix, according to their Twitter Feed, disables the Gaive Suppression mod because of an issue with it. Good luck trying to deal with Lucent Hive without that.

                        • Well why do you only read the stuff you want to read? They said they will fix the drop rates for Wellspring SOON! Some stuff are easier than others to fix. If you don't have patient then play another game.

                              You have to wait for a while for Bungie to release their typical statement: "drop rates were not working as intended". Anything that benefits the players and it's DEFCON 1 all devs at their stations. :P

                                • To be fair, i think that the drop rates of red border weapons are intended like they are right now. You acquire them once (1-5 of them) and then you're done. You can literally craft the perfect version after as often as you wish. So i think the drop rates are "reasonable" BUT painful at the same time. I know because i obtained all of them now and probably wasted 50 hours if not more on that lol. I just want others to have a better experience getting them and bad luck protection is a good upcoming change. Bungie is probably just reacting to the outrage, more of a pr thing than anything. But thinking about it, since literally everyone can have the perk for perk perfect weapon roll after getting the red weapons, it will just be cheese cake after the drop rate buff and the god rolls will feel way too common and "whatever".

                                    • It's really funny how people are complaining about this, think about it and you will realize why certain systems absolutely needed to be nerfed. It is worth noting that items needing buffs were addressed on Twitter prior to the Hotfix, and then later in the TWAB. Let's review the nerfs: 1. Chest farming: If you think this was an intended system as is, you are fooling yourself. The system before the hotfix essentially allowed you to go from Rank 15-30 in about 30-45 minutes, which is just crazy. All the while, this allowed for stupidly easy farming of Deepsight weapons. I suspect they will change this to either put chests on a timer, or only allow one of each chest pickup per instance, either of which aren't necessarily easy things to implement, disabling something is an easy hotfix until a proper fix can be implemented. 2. Gunsmith Rep Farming: I honestly don't know why they didn't make this change with Witch Queen, it was clear that this system would be exploited. With that said, you could spend 1 Legendary Shard and 250 Glimmer to get 3 Gunsmith reputation. While this doesn't seem like much, this essentially is the equivalent of resetting the Gunsmith while spending 3333 Legendary Shards and 833k Glimmer, which for a player overflowing with resources is chump change. This again is obviously not how the system was intended to be played, so increasing the cost from Collections is not only warranted, but I'm surprised it wasn't done sooner. Now let's look at needed buffs: 1. Wellspring Deepsight Drop Rates: They are currently atrocious and 100% need a buff, in a 6 hour play session in Wellspring, I managed to get 1 to drop, and I know others that had much worse luck. The difference with this change is that drop rates are not as simple as flipping a switch, which is why they plan to launch this change next Thursday. 2. Ascendant Alloy Drop Rates: Same as before, 100% needs a buff. Again, not as simple as flipping a switch and we will be getting a change next Thursday. TL;DR If there are things breaking the game (including game economy and reputation gains), these things are easy to disable so that the core of the game can be kept intact. Some buffs are harder to implement (or at least not as easy as flipping a switch), so it makes sense those take longer. If Bungie had not addressed these issues at all, I'd be onboard with the criticism, but having these things buffed next week is more than fine with me.
