Bungie people really need to do something to close this gap. It's still a huge, ongoing problem. There are players who still can't get into certain content and raids.

6 답변I played Forsaken and ShadowKeep without friends. They abandoned D2 after year 1 and only returned because D2 and all expansions went on Game Pass. Thankfully it looks like I will get to play with them in WQ as they decided to buy the expansion. That being said. This past year I have not done one Raid or GM. I’ve never done a GM actually. Much if that is because of the lack of in game features to find a group. I could use the app to find a group, but one thing I agree with that video about is that the four letters “KWTD” is the most toxic and off putting. Even if you’ve seen videos there are times where people are checking for number of clears you’ve had. They don’t just want you to know what to do, they want you to have experience doing it. This has actually gotten worse over Destiny’s life span. “KWTD” has be come more and more a staple of LFG. I rarely ever saw it in D1, but it is a regular requirement in D2 LFGs. Not enough have the time, patience, or encouragement to Sherpa people through content. And as long as finding a group is exclusive to apps and 3rd party websites there will never be an incentive to be a Sherpa. That’s what’s really needed. Encourage people to Sherpa uninitiated players through activities. Not just with a Triumph, like Trials, but with an increased chance at loot. I bet if you gave a person an additional chance at a loot drop, which meant double the chances of getting Vex, more people would be willing to “Sherpa” players through VOG. And more people who’ve never been through the Raid would get experience doing so. This being able to Sherpa players themselves. Making a larger community of people willing to teach 1-2 players, just to increase their chances for loot.

7 답변Antisocial solo players: "Waaaah Bungie put matchmaking in raids right now!" Bungie: *puts matchmaking in raids* Those same players: "Waaaah I keep getting matched up with trash teammates!" Matchmaking won't solve the problem. LFG exists, so use it.

4 답변So I'll start by saying this: if you want to do an activity, do everything you can to prepare, just like the video says. Use LFg for your first raid, but watch videos of every encounter first. Know your load out. Generally don't suck at the game. I am not a believer in matchmaking for every activity, because of one thing: voice chat. You have to be able to communicate and if you don't in a raid, it is likely going to be a trainwreck. And the idea of an "easy mode" raid where the mechanics are dumbed down just feels like a cheat to me. NOW, I will say that there should be matchmaking for more things. Dungeons should have it. Honestly, most, if not all, dungeons can be done without a mic, especially if you know what to do. There is a reason people solo this all the time. The exotic missions - sure, give them matchmaking. However, the legend of master difficulties of all of these probably shouldn't have matchmaking. I do think that you can look at Legend nightfalls and add matchmaking there. Those things are basically cake walks anyway. The one caveat here is that you have to have a power lever requirement to access it. I think matchmaking should be expanded to more activities and I think dungeons fall under that category, but the way raids are built just would not support it.

Bungie has made some strides in that area I think. The last few seasons had content that had both a match made more chaotic activity and a solo activity alongside it that is more geared towards exploration. I’m also hopeful for the upcoming WQ campaign missions were legendary difficulty is adaptive (to some degree) towards fireteam size. That to me signals a bit of a culture change at Bungie were challenging content is geared for both groups and solos. If Bungie wants to spend the resources to make raids, good for them. They are a sort of flagship activity, but given the grindy nature of the game, the emphasis on (sometimes convoluted) mechanics and the dependence on having to basically invite the unwashed public into your living room if you don’t have 5 Destiny dedicated friends … well … don’t expect huge participation numbers. Dungeons are much more approachable and it’s good that Bungie is making more of these. Some of the exotic missions like Harbinger or Presage are also much easier to get into and have great story elements. As for GM nightfalls and the whole champion system. I think those are not well designed. They are odious activities that narrow player choice down to some meta and best practice approach that stifle fun and creativity. If you want a punishing slog sign up there, if you want a fun Destiny experience: avoid.

I always think back to this bit from Dunkey's review of Destiny: https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxlHgEaDRUF32NMUTnjIc6kVYjCgb-bs5l Raids have always felt weird to me, because they really seem like they're from a completely different game. Outta nowhere, you need 5 other players with mics so you can figure out puzzle mechanics that'll kill you instantly if you don't do it right. "It's a multiplayer game though! What did you expect?" Well not the insane jump in complexity from NFs to raids. Raids are fun and all, but to me they've always felt like they're from some alternate universe version of Destiny.

1 답변Just use LFG? I play solo because I like to play music but I'm still able to bang out a raid or a nightfall or a dungeon when I feel like it

2 답변I’d say this: I have lots of friends, I’m willing to teach/carry them through gms and dungeons, maybe a raid here and there. But even though I have invited them more than once, they NEVER invite ME. They never ask for help, and I get tired of being the one who invites, so I stop, and eventually remove them from my friends. Also, in LFG, often the title is « teaching LW » or whichever raid. Just wait for one of these posts and go. The real problem is that solo players are antisocial most of the time, they don’t WANT to play with others, they want the loot only. But it is true that having a whole raid team of close friends is the best thing that can happen to you in Destiny, and you better appreciate it because for me it lasted only half a year.

1 답변Wait, so you're saying a multi-player fps with mmo elements doesn't intentionally cater to people who force themselves to play solo? Weird...

2 답변There’s tons of help out there. All of us here had to learn the raid blind or through others. It’s possible for you to do the same if you make the effort.

Party Finders / LFG should be implemented in the game and not on the website It's a minus thing but it would help a lot of solo players (me included) for raids and dungeons instead of going to the app or the website. That's like 101 MMO stuff

I think it would be very cool to have a in game LFG. But I don't think the way it is now is a problem. I get invited by random players all the time, I have more them 200 friends added to my list. It happens in the tower, with new lights in the cosmodrome, in trials, everywhere. It's a "you" problem when people are not open to accept or make invites, and decide to play the game alone. A cool idea would be to have some emotes, to express what you want to do. Imagine been in the tower and having a emote with a buble above your head saying raid, or trials, etc.

11 답변An in game LFG tool would be pretty sick, but the tools rn don't feel like they're failing in anyway. You get back the effort you put in.

13 답변It's a community based game. If people want to play solo, they can go hop on Uncharted, or Horizon

I’m in a clan but play 99% solo unless I’m helping someone and that includes GM nightfalls, dungeons, or general end game content besides raids. I think playing solo is what you make of it like most things. It’s not an easy road though for most and I get that. Not to say that they need carrying, rather a bit of assistance for various activities. I didn’t know The last Wish raid, I hunted lfg for a group teaching and ran it. They were cool and due to my pve play if botching a mechanic it wasn’t treated like a crime. Find the right group through an lfg, even if you’re terrible, they’ll carry and help you learn.

14 답변I play solo a lot. That's a choice. Blaming Bungie because you choose to play solo is misguided. ✌️

11 답변Kinda weird a MMO relies on 3rd party tools to function tbh but wtf do I know? I’m just here for the punch and pie
-
If you refuse to seek people out in a multiplayer game, you’re not going to be able to get into everything the game has to offer. That’s just how that works. 99% of the game is perfectly accessible to solo players.
-
15 답변It's literally a "you problem". Solo players have these self imposed restrictions which mean they can't play half the content in the game. It is well known that you need to have a group or be willing to try LFG in order to get the most enjoyment out of this game. If you're antisocial or are apprehensive about trying LFG, that's just something you need to sort out yourself- in the nicest way possible. Yes, it will take you out of your comfort zone. It's supposed to. But you may just end up making really good friends in the process.
