You can check stats in various sites that use Bungie’s API. I was using Trials Report. I background check all randoms that are part of my premade fireteam if using lfg for trials.

I know Fubar, And he has returned to destiny 2 just recently from when it released year 1 or 2, And can guarantee he would have had no idea if that other person was cheating. Bunjie you need to reverse his ban, Fubar was a great cs:go player from back in the day and 100% would never cheat in any game, Heck we had to run him through legit VOG every encounter becuase he refused to even use mild cheeses here and there lol.

Sorry but 21 others who has a chance at getting a flawless run had their chance ruined by cheating. Do you think it is fair to them? What would you have felt if it was you who lost to cheaters? You go and look on the #Destiny2 forum page and every day people are complaining about cheaters ruining their matches (truthfully some are crying wolf and others mistake lag for cheating but there are more than a few rightful claims). If your friend had left when it became obvious and reported the cheater he would have been fine but he continued to profit from someone cheating and getting the rewards because of it. Also every time we see someone complaining about being banned the forum regulars and helpers have to take the post with a BIG pinch of salt as we are regularly lied to.

Irrelevant. Facts are that he played with someone who was cheating. Thus, he benefited from said cheating. Benefiting from a cheater is part of ban policy. Thus, as of now, ban stands unless he appeals & Bungie grants it for being improperly placed.

Im sorry then they should not have matchmaking as it might allow a legit player to play with some tard that is cheating potentially griefing others on purpose. Yes i know matchmaking should be there, But you can see the point im making, If you allow others to matchmake into a group and others have not paid, nor using account recovery, it should not be a guilt by proxy and the cheater and only the cheater should be punished. Yes me and fubar hate cheaters with a passion, But an accidental occurance should be made . What other game bans all team members if one cheats ? Its only the cheater that gets hit. Fubar has lodged an appeal, And i hope it gets sorted as his was an accidental occurance.

But he wasn’t matchmade with this person. He used an lfg service & became a premade fireteam with this player, then played multiple games with them while they were cheating. You obviously don’t know the facts in this case, so it’s probably best if you stay out of it.

Being matchmade with a cheater is different from forming a pre made fireteam (even if it’s through an lfg post). If you are matchmade on a team with a cheater through the game (such as freelance trials) Bungie will not hold you accountable for what someone else does but if you queen into an activity with a pre made fireteam that includes a cheater you are definitely going to be held accountable for whatever they are doing.

according to bunjie, these are the reasons that can get a player banend. What could get you banned or restricted: Charging others to recover their account for boosting, earning items, completing content, etc. Recovering accounts in exchange for anything of value including but not limited to Patreon supporters, subscribers, follows, gift cards, etc. Paying someone to recover your account to be boosted, have items earned, etc. Boosting recoveries done for free can also result in bans or restrictions. He has done none of these, (never paid or used recovery) Yes he inadvertanlly unkowingly benefitted from someone he did not know was cheating, So take away the benefits from said matches and provide a warning, Im sorry but anyone that thinks someone is going to sit down and research stuff at the drop of a hat using LFG is asking too much, And bunjies polices might sound fine to you, Unless you use the legitimate process hacker (windows shell replacement) like that dev who was wrongfully banned. Its an overreach. Just pray that you guys dont matchmake into a strike or gambit match or anything else where a cheater is then. Step out of your shoes and look at it from basically a new players perspective, You cannot possibly expect people to know what other randoms are doing in LFG.
