I played a lot of solo Trials this weekend and the absolute majority of the matches I matched with 2 other solo players against a 3-stack squad.
I don't have acess to the numbers, but empirically it seems there are lots of people wanting to play both in stacks and solo. But for some reason, the matchmaking always matches a 3-stack squad against 3 solo players.
The argument of splitting the mode's playerbase is hard to consider, given that I found so many matches quickly and it was mostly 3 x (1+1+1).
Please consider making the Freelance mode permanent. It is so much more balanced and fun.

Freelance is so much better as a solo player… went to the lighthouse last week and had crazy fun! This week playing with my Titan which I’m not that great with Ive been with other solos and it’s been awful… against stack teams is no fun at all… please make freelance permanent!

Bungie hasn't talked about any of the data they've gathered from the times they ran the freelance queue yet, and I reckon they won't until a few weeks to a month after Witch Queen comes out. I'm betting it'll be a monthly thing though when they do talk about it.

Now this idea is one I’m surprised they haven’t done yet. We might even see it in Witch Queen There doesn’t seem to be a reason to not do this, and it’d improve the experience across the board really. Outside of people who strictly 3 stack ToO, and never touch the solo option when it’s around.

It's not that hard to do math. Even I can do it and I flunked it. - End of the season = sweaty matches - half of the solo players joining are almost in the same amount that are 3 stacks - what about duos? Should they have terrible mm time for that one solo that forgets freelance exists. - it does split the playerbase, just because it doesn't reinforce YOUR point doesn't mean its not a real issue. - Get back into trials when witch Queen comes out. For better mm and more people - Stacks also play other stacks believe it or not. Last weekend I faced only stacked on stacked teams with at least one flawless seal because
end of the season
작성자: Jatmahl 2/15/2022 12:32:29 AMFreelance needs to be on every other week or permanent. Right now if you solo queue you are just playing for loot and not flawless. Freelance actually gives solo players a chance to get flawless because everyone is under the same conditions. Also why isn't previous trials armor available? Bring it back!

6 답변작성자: Althanash 2/14/2022 9:02:06 PMFreelance like the flawless pool both need to be never considered again. It's not a question of stacks vs solos. It's a skill issue.......one that can mildly be compensated for (if you're relatively fragile) with a MM system that would work. But here's the wrench in the cesspool works. Bungie refuse or can't remove the algorithms that cause that MM system to fail. It's a simple fix on paper. A mental breakdown to pull off in practice no doubt. If anyone's wondering I'm referring to SBMM.....because there are worse options to call for like Freelance and the Prison pool.

Trials has always thrived when the playerbase is high, and anything that reduces the player size ends up with sweatier and sweatier matches, this is part of the reason Trials gets to be unbearable towards the end of a season for example. Freelance will incentivize more casual players to play this game mode, which will make non-solo play a worse experience. While this looks good on paper for the solo players, it will ruin the game mode overall. Here's what you want to do to keep Trials fun for all players: 1. Remove the flawless pool. All this does is incentivize casual players to wait until Sunday to play to go flawless ONCE then never again for the weekend. 2. Remove the ability to reset a card that doesn't have a loss. This will remove the ability for sweaty players to farm 1-win cards (or at least require them to intentionally lose games in order to do so). 3. Shower the game mode in loot, not just for wins. Normal Trials loot should drop relatively frequently as a way to incentivize playing the game mode, even if you lose. 3-5-7 wins should be a guaranteed normal drop every card. The fact of the matter is that 50% of players lose their games, and there needs to be an incentive to keep those players playing. 4. Have more Flawless loot. The system from Destiny 1 was great, having an armor set that was exclusive to going flawless for the year, then rotating that armor into the normal loot pool the following year. Just like there needs to be an incentive for casual players, there needs to be an incentive for more hardcore players as well, especially loot that incentivizes going flawless.

I like freelance so much that its definitely hard to not just say the whole thing should be freelance instead of teams if the player population can't handle being split. But Trials is a team based mode, you can't even get the seal without being in a premade team, and there's probably more people that would be upset if freelance was always available than would be happy. Or roughly the same number of people. Now that its had one season to see how things work with the new version maybe after they see what the player population ends up looking like once WQ and its million preorders are released then they can look into having freelance more often. You could certainly argue that freelance might increase overall engagement, but for some people playing on a team is going to be the best experience so they might stop playing if the player population drops there. There's also the thing where its kind of wrong to say you should be playing an elimination mode in a premade team that's communicating against solos. I'm not sure how some people are able to argue that's the way it should be but somehow they do. Either way freelance once a month just doesn't seem like a enough. Maybe every other weekend would be a good balance.

No idea why they don’t just make solo queue permanent, they worry about the matchmaking being slower when I think that every one on the planet would rather have a longer queue time then a poorly match made game. At the very least they could make solo queue more frequent, like every 2-3 weeks instead of every 2 months.

yep, it's the same as normal pvp, the game insists on matching stack players (be it 3, 5 or full on 6) with solo's all placed on the opposing team The majority of my Trials matches have been against 3stacks, how pvp doesn't have solo for each node in this day and age is comical, it's almost like they can't code extra circle nodes in the crucible page because the game engine would crash from being at its limit..

The main thing im wondering about trials. Is why the flawless game is 99% of the time against a team of 2 players and a random. My last 10 flawless have been like that and qame for my friends. Is there a hidden rule now ? XD
