In D1 we could go to either the Vanguard or Crucible Quartermaster to buy weapons and select gear. The main NPCs sold their armour. That worked well. This world armour and weapons drop in all activities is, in my opinion, over done. I would like to see specific activities just drop armour and weapons related to that activity. Maybe that will unsunset more gear for said activities, example; Breakneck AR for Gambit; all the great IB gear we can’t access. Etc. Just a thought. 🙏 .
Edit: Bungie had a lot of good features in D1 that they didn’t continue in D2. This was but one of them. Maybe this suggestion might be “unvaulted” at a later date.

I would like to see bounties like the ones that the crucible quartermaster had in D1 that rewarded you with a weapon after getting an x amount of kills with that weapon type. For example you would get a bounty from him where you need 30 kills in pvp with a pulse rifle and when you claim that bounty it would reward you with a randomly rolled pvp pulse rifle.I think it would be good to see all 3 core playlist vendors have bounties like this in D2 but they need to go back to having their own loot pools not this shared loot pool they have now.

Not to mention would space out the loot pool more so you could actively farm sources you wanted without it being a random hodgepodge of weapons from every activity making the chances of getting something even lower. Even just separating the weapons back into their respective activity pools would work wonders, not to mention seasonally introduced gear only dropping from the umbral decoding option.........

It just shows the height of laziness, I knew this would start happening when they announced that they were making one armour set for vanguard, crucible and gambit and will only change the decal on it. I'm fed up of the constant rehash of everything in game, they can't even bother to change the look of old guns, they just say, here you go, have those back. Pity though as I really miss those days of every vendor having their own loot pool.

I 100% agree I also miss being able to buy weapons that came out on Tuesdays from banshee

Careful, you're going to get everyone all riled up saying stupid things like "nostalgia" and "rose tinted glasses" because they can't handle factual information about D1.

Yeah, Bungie loves breaking things that aren't broken. I guess after 7 years there is one thing I can give them credit for, and that is being consistent when it comes to breaking things 👍 Looking back on how they changed most things from the previous game, it was all done so they could have this control padded playtime.

Also, Glass Needles. I'm so tired of Lost sectors to get a perfect Phoenix Protocol roll.

I wouldn’t mind the current system if the world drop list wasn’t so bloated. There’s about 50 weapons in there right now. Bungie needs to purge a large portion of the older ones. Keep the ones from the past two seasons and maybe add 1 or 2 weapons from Splicer and this season. You’d end up having about 15-20 like how it was back when the world loot pool was introduced. As far as giving specific ways to grind them: I’d enjoy that but I think just cutting down on the world loot pool would help make it easier to find a good roll in a season. We also have a partial version of this in the playlist exclusive weapons. They just need to cut the amount of perks in them or make the drops a bit more common.
