Is the future set in stone or what?, does time traveling to the past change the present? And most importantly what the hell is up with vex sending their troops to the past/future?

The future is not set in stone. There hasn’t been any actually time travel until Elsie Brays Dark Future lore and she goes back into the past, when Cayde became the Hunter Vanguard and relives the passage of time to present/future. There is no time travel to the past to affect the present. Elsie’s case is a mystery. She is using technology to travel but the lore showed the Travelers explosion as the trigger. So all the important details are missing. The Vex simultaneously in the past present and future. This is in part due to their nature and mostly due to the Vault of Glass. The Vault allows the Vex to span the three time zones and also the other timelines. They can shuffle troops around but, likely due to the simultaneous aspect, are unable to properly time travel. You can’t travel to the past if it’s technically part of your present and future.

1 답변The Vex Network basically exists in its own weird way outside of time, where resources can be diverted to specific times and places. Events can be rewritten, after all the most famous example (besides the Saint thing) is the Vex intentionally allowing a transmission from Praedyth to escape the Vault of Glass in order to purge Oryx’s Taken from within as to avert their own extinction. The Vex are more than happy to play the long game, after all outside of one instance, that being Season of the Undying, the Vex themselves have never gone on the offensive against the forces of the City. Unfortunately though with a lack of a central villain after the death of Quria the Vex are going to be a challenge for Bungie to do anything with. Although the portrayal of the Network through the fake Maya in the Clovis Journal gives me some hope.

12 답변Vex are just a whole different story than us. For example minitours "teleport" by reconsidering their place in the time line, then rewrite part of it so that they are in a more advantageous position. As long as we stay on the same timeline (and there are multiple look at the exo stranger) what happens in the past does effect the future. Easy example is us motivating Saint 14, and now he's a complete BA.

3 답변AFAIK, leading Astrophysicists hypothesize that going back in time would not alter the current state of things; rather it would create a completely separate timeline in a different universe altogether.

4 답변Well… it’s complicated. In a normal World with no light or dark the vex would probably be omnipotent. They could probably take over the entire universe blah blah time travel. But in the destiny universe? No Light and Dark are paracausal forces, the vex cannot determine their effects on reality and can’t (properly) simulate guardians as far as I remember. So basically, light&dark>Time travel
