Not expanding the vault space all these years whilst:
- adding ever more gear
- adding random rolls
- adding so called 'elements' to armor requiring multiple copies of everything
- more recently adding random rolls to exotic weapons
- having non-reobtainable loot
- having no way to target farm the overwhelming majority of loot
all making the entire Collections system effectively obselete, has not only hampered the game for some time but will undo much of the enjoyment of WQ.
It's been at and past crisis point from Beyond Light.
Clearly, this doesn't affect some New Lights, those who just want play the entire game with just a few of the most meta weapons, or have only one main character. All of which is fine. However we'll always enjoy the same old one word, one sentence hoarding half-replies again, every time vault space is brought up.
But Bungie, if there's no announcement before WQ of an update coming then much of the enjoyment and purpose of the game is going to be completely scuppered.
Don't ruin WQ for us before it starts.

There are a range of potential solutions that are possible and they of course include weapon crafting.
Eg.
Removing or reducing the transfer cost of changing those pseudo-elements. *¹
Removing pseudo-elements altogether.
Having a secondary vault - a deep storage. This alleviates lag in loading and the local memory limitations being a separate database.
Increasing the size a modest amount as a stop-gap measure.
Expanding weapon crafting beyond just new gear and a few of the many hundreds of others we earned or otherwise obtained.
Target-farming of loot.
Storing killtracker counts and a best roll(s) in Collections.
Storing killtracker counts for Exotics.

1. This has just been acknowledged and implemented for WQ. Win! From TWAB:

To take a little bit of pressure off your vault space, we are also making some adjustments to the way Masterwork armors work. Starting with the launch of The Witch Queen, you can change the energy type of a fully-Masterworked piece of armor for a much-reduced cost. A fully Masterworked piece of Legendary armor can be changed to another energy type for the cost of 10,000 Glimmer and one Upgrade Module, while a fully Masterworked piece of Exotic armor can be changed to another energy type for the cost of 20,000 Glimmer and one Upgrade Module. The costs for changing a piece of armor’s energy type before it is fully Masterworked remain unchanged.
Totally agree. The lack of vault space is one of the few things that can ruin the experience for me. Always having to delete pieces you would want to keep is not what a LOOTER shooter should feel like. Anyone saying it's not necessary either doesn't fully play all three characters, or doesn't like to change gear and can't understand that other people do, or simply is a useless troll. At least give increasing vault space according to the characters you play. Not a programmer, but I don't see how extra space would negatively affect other players.

1 답변Hmm, the big that will impact vault space will be weapon crafting. Being able to change the element for relatively very little materials and currency will mean you don’t need to keep gear with you preferred stay distribution for all the element types. You may still have PvP rolls and PvE rolls though, but you won’t need multiple versions to accommodate different elementally locked mods. BUT the potentially big one is weapon crafting. Right now many of us keep rolls of weapons on the chance a perk might get “fixed” or buffed, and something becomes meta. But if weapon crafting isn’t too much of a grind, especially a little while into the season where we maybe just naturally stocked up on currency and materials, then we don’t need to keep so many versions of a weapon. We can just re-make any of those rolls down the road if we want/need them. So the vault can just have weapons we are more like to use on even a semi regular basis. We might be able to cut out vault down to under 200, easy.

25 답변I'm going to play on the other side of the fence here. Justify that increase. If you tell me builds I'll laugh. If you tell me multiple armour sets when a majority of obsolete or frankly useless I'll laugh again. Side note: I'm not against it. I just don't see as an urgent need.

2 답변Exotic armor should have universal affinity and take all mods. You should be able to store your favorite roll for each weapon in collections.

They are not adding anything Guessing it’s on the radar though hence all the streamers making reduce your vault videos recently IMO 500 is not enough for 3 characters They constantly change stuff sandbox wise so it kind of forces you to keep stuff Linear fusion rifles are a perfect example I kept the ones with good rolls but never used them until this season If i had none and had to farm them they would be useless by the time I acquired decent rolls because the next sandbox would introduce something different They need to add vault space or rework collections where I can keep some of the good stuff that was Uber hard to obtain If not we’ll I guess they need to farm someone else’s wallet going forward

You should be able to re-obtain any previously found loot including perk combinations and other stats. It could start with weapons, but why not also include armor? This way you would just use the vault for items that you have masterworks of.

4 답변They have made announcements on this. The majority of y’all don’t listen. They’ve stated the vault space causes tech problems as your vault and inventory load in with you. I’m not smart enough to really understand that, but the folks I know who work in tech completely agree. I’m hoping weapon crafting fixes this, perhaps with a system that allows ONE GUN to have ALL of the perks/barrels/etc, eliminating the desire to keep everything, in the off chance there’s a buff like adrenaline junkie. Also for anyone struggling with this, there’s been a couple solid YouTube videos with Datto and Fallout Plays that they discuss weapons to keep/etc, useless/underperforming perk combos/etc. For example, check your exotic weapons. Anything that’s still 1100 hasn’t been used in forever and can safely be deleted. If you happen to want it back, it costs a mere like 7 legendar purple shards, 777 glimmer and some planetary mats. Super cheap.

18 답변Crafting. I don't think Bungie has the ability to expand vault space without taking the game into territory where it simply won't run anymore on PS4 and XB1....and since they are still the bulk of the console market for the game......

2 답변Ask my son. He got me back from 500 to 250. And would have deleted more if I had let him. As much as I want more space as well the majority you neither need nor will ever use. Tough decisions but required. Light.gg God roll appraiser helpful as well. Though I use weapons considered by light.gg as crap which personally I consider godly and use all time. Anyway. Start deleting.
-
1 답변Stop hoarding crap you don't use and you'll have plenty of vault space. I have numerous armour sets for all 3 characters, god roll masterworked exotic armour with different affinitys for most pieces and a -blam!- ton of weapons and still have about 200 spaces free.

1 답변Your entire argument is based on the assumption that everything in your current collection will still be top-of-the-line “good gear” (weapons & armor) after the new content is dropped and all the changes are implemented. Not an opinion, fact. Now I don’t have any insight as to whether or not your assumption is valid or not. I doubt that anyone has evidence to support it either way. However, what that means for vault space availability, in it’s current 500 slot configuration, is that if you are right,…if your assumption is correct,…big if,…then you’ll have to make some tough choices. If I was a decision-maker at Bungie, I’d leave it as-is and force those tough decisions on the player-base intentionally. That is my perspective. If you haven’t equipped something by now, what are the odds it will suddenly be worth equipping once Witch Queen drops? I’m just not sympathetic to the cause. That’s my opinion. Doesn’t make you wrong for asking. Just not seeing the “need”.
