"Destiny is more expensive to play now than when they were still with Activision"
I believe that speaks volumes.
Thoughts?
(No need for toxicity, this post is mainly to see other perspectives within the player base)
Edit 1
This Post was meant to explore your thoughts about the business practice, I for one dont mind, im always for paid content. It means more content for me to play. ( Which is great for Destiny)
However, sunsetting tangled shore and forsaken to go on and sell the last wish raid as pack, is shady to me (defo would like to hear your thoughts on this)
No need for immature/sarcastic comments (you're not cool when you do that btw, please be mature)

3 답변I can understand why people are upset about the monetization in this game but this is nothing new. The price of PS5 and Xbox Series X games are $70. Not to mention many of those games include season passes of their own and add little to previous installments. People are grouping content over the course of THREE YEARS in Destiny 2 and are complaining. Of course it’s going to be expensive because you are buying everything there is to offer. On the other hand, newer players have to pay the brunt of the cost in order to even stay relevant in the game. This goes for the majority of mmos out there. Just like any major expansion it costs $40. This has always been the case except ROI which had less than the other expansions. When I see people complaining about the anniversary pack I never can understand why. Games like fortnite and apex sell skins for $20-40 which is absurd yet no one complains. Since it’s only cosmetic it’s okay. But when Bungie releases an OPTIONAL bundle that includes many more skins, a dungeon, FREE event, weapon skins etc. everyone gets up in arms. Of course I would like this game to be cheaper and I’m not arguing for it to be a money sink. But the pricing comparative to other games is nothing new.

Dude just STOP. The people still playing are either addicted, or don't care and are diehards. Either way, it's all done with. Bungie is alone, which they love, but also, they have nearly no budget now..... Because they're alone. So now the question is, do you want to support the minimal effect per season and be strung thru plot after plot with GIANT holes? I came back a few days ago out of curiosity; I haven't played in over a year. My opinion? Bungie is not the Bungie they promise / used to be

2 답변The whole idea of “greed” from a for profit business like Bungie is completely absurd. It’s not like Bungie has sweat shops and child labor like some other giant corporations, so I don’t get this argument at all. If you want to protest greed then do so against the companies that contract work out to countries that don’t mind using what amounts to slave labor and child labor. That’s true greed

I subbed to WoW from like 2007 to 2013. Witch Queen + 30th is a drop in the bucket compared to what I paid for that game. Price and worth are subjective. I'm not buying it immediately anyway. I'm waiting to see what's all included with it like any responsible consumer.

14 답변작성자: Major-Payne 11/30/2021 10:51:09 PMI don’t personally think the $100 I spent for the preorder for another year of content is too much. I also prefer to make up my own mind instead of listening to the Tubers. Give it a try.

The expansion isn't expensive- The costs are inline with the market and what I expected. I think it was honestly a little shady to be still selling expansions even though they announced those things were going into the content vault. Gamers are so entitled.

작성자: A_mo 12/1/2021 9:37:57 PMHow are they selling Last Wish as a pack? The bottom line for me is that Witch Queen costs $80. I choose to look at it more like that was the goal rather than them trying to nickel and dime people. Eververse is totally optional and while that is technically stuff that could be in the game for free, most of it can be gotten through bright dust and tbh, I'm not very interested in paying money for the stuff that can be gotten for bright dust. If I pay cash for something (which doesn't happen all that often but does happen) I feel like it should be rather scarce as far as people having it. I'm going to withold my opinions about content creators making a bigger deal out of this than it is because that could be considered "toxic." But I do have opinions about that and couldn't care less if someone thinks they come across as sarcastic or immature. EDIT: Everyone should also be factoring in the completely masterful visual transformation that this game has gone through in the last year. Personally one of the most impressive things I've seen in 35 years of playing videogames.

In all fairness, the upcoming year has more stuff in it than we got under Activision. Take away the 30th Anniversary pack and it'd be cheaper. That being said, I do think the "Destiny a la carte" approach is starting to stray into the realms of "convoluted" which isnt great.

14 답변Why are people surprised when a business is greedy? This should be what you expect by default. Money is a businesses life blood, without it they stop existing. We prioritize our survival above pretty much every thing, Bungie is going to do the same. Bungie does not have a conscious, Bungie does not care what you want or feel, Bungie does not care about right or wrong (legal and illegal, maybe), Bungie does not care if you are having fun, Bungie will not "do the right thing", Bungie is not a -blam!- person that you can reason with so stop treating them like one.

7 답변I watched the video when it was first published. I don’t agree with most of his statements because 1) eververse is fine because it’s just cosmetics. Would I like this stuff to be earn able in game yes. 2) monetization isn’t really a problem because every company does it and Bungie is growing so they need to pay their employees. 3) with the 30th anniversary, I have no problem with the price tag Because, the people who made it probably want to get payed

I always wanted bungie to increase prices, I can afford it,If it means more content.I understand most can’t afford it. I would absolutely hate bungie though if they locked everything in the 30th anniversary behind a paywall. Im sure they won’t but you never know. Micro transactions are a choice (eververse).

7 답변
Thoughts?
My thought is you have a content creator who is no longer relevant (He stopped covering The Division, and he hasn't caught on at all trying to cover Destiny)...who is trying to gain attention through negativity. 1. All games are more expensive this generation. The base price of AAA games on PS5 and XBSX have gone up to $70 2. The nature of the game has changed since Activision was the publisher. Activision wanted Destiny to be a serialized, seasonalized shooter. But one where you had to buy every scrap of content to keep playing the game. Whereas, when you compare Destiny to most MMO-type or MMO-lite games....It is dramatically cheaper than most games of its type to play... ...and most games that try to be less expensive are STARVING for content. Marvel's Avengers. Anthem (dead). The Division 2 hasn't seen an expansion in almost 2 years. The game is literally replaying verbatim content from last year, and its a ghost town. 3. Long story short? You have a segment of the player base that lost the struggle for control over the game...and they're bitter. They are like the jilted lover who can't let go, and won't move on. So they hang around the game and they throw rocks at it. The game has changed in ways the don't like, and they're simply mad....and because they're mad, they're arguing that its bad.

4 답변Hot take: I think bungie was better off with activision (short term) than without. Long term bungie would be better off without, but idk what a continued contract would entail.

8 답변Another one believes everything a streamer spews out. They will say anything to get viewers with tin foil hat ideas and you all fall for it. I trust what some of them spew about as much as I would have trusted Fred West.

5 답변Greed 😂 Did you pull this out from the communist manifesto? How many here wouldn't try to maximize profits if they owned a business I wonder? Bungie is selling a product at a price they deem to be competitive. If you don't agree with said price, you should not buy the product. If the product doesn't sell, they will reevaluate the offerings/price and adjust accordingly.

2 답변The pricing is fine. The only reason it seems like more than usuals is because we are getting more content than usual. Prices are fine and have been the same since D1. Not watching the video though. The LS clickbait is aggravating. He literally didn’t even do anything. Also, Mereum. By the looks of the comments you just seem to be a die hard fan of MarcoStyle. No hate, but you keep trying to shut down discussions by saying “it’s not relevant”, and then get sort off passive-aggressive when someone bad-mouths him. This seems less like an opinion post and more of a post just to spread whatever clickbait doctrine is in said linked video.

9 답변
Destiny is more expensive to play now than when they were still with Activision" I believe that speaks volumes.
that quote doesn't mean anything. A mansion is more expensive than a shoebox. This is obvious because we know what we're comparing. But saying something is more expensive to play (which is objectively untrue) doesn't mean anything without further context and explanation

“My mom won’t cough up more money this year so I’m going to complain and hope Bungie lowers the price” Also I thought we all hate YouTubers but now that you agree with one, we should share what they have to say across the world?
