              Week 1 rule sets won’t necessarily bring back players. Weeks one population height was for a variety of reasons. One is accessibility to trials loot. Now that nearly all players have the non adept trials loot they want, why should they enter a playlist they get destroyed in? They don’t care about adept loot. Week one is a major outlier for a variety of reasons. Even if they go back to week 1, it simply won’t have NEARLY the population it had before. Upgrade materials aren’t enough to keep people playing long term, something high tier players and streamers don’t seem to understand. Nightfalls are FAR easier and less frustrating to farm in most cases for upgrade materials.

              • Bungie don’t care about the customer experience, and that’s nothing new. They rely on stats, because that’s their whole rhetoric, and it actually makes sense from a business standpoint. If player numbers continue to be high, then that’s what they should do, because whatever the whiners complain about on a closed forum page no one gives a damn about, they can use numbers to assert that players love that activity, and metrics to claim that the activity provides a fair, balanced and competitive environment. Wanna prove them wrong? Then stop acting like a beaten partner who keeps waiting home for their ones to come beat them up. Stop supporting teleshopping hosts or imaginary boyfriends. Personally I only care about loots. This activity hasn’t offered any new loot since reed’s, and it’s actually nothing worthy, especially past this particle deconstruction season. Shayura is just a void SMG, and whatever tool, adept or not, is just good enough. By this time of the year(S), there is literally nothing worth going into that activity for, except for micropenises who want to shine and be handed ugly shiny gear, at least for all those who complain. For those who don’t and take on the challenge, trials is a rdv, and whatever format, they go in it, and always get to the lighthouse. It may take them more or less time depending on Bungie’s experiments, but the fact is they have fun with it. So stop waiting at home to get beaten if you don’t like it.

                      I''m currently waiting on playing trials so I can help friends go flawless later on. But this update has the most fundamental flaw i could think of for matchmaking. - Bungie is literally punishing players that play their game the most. Like the more you play, the less fun the game gets. What a great idea... - A key that had been making trials work is that their was more incentive for everyone, including lower skilled players to keep playing after flawless. First when they added the flawless pool, they lost any extra play from anyone who barely went flawless as they had no chance to win another game basically. Any update to trials should be geared at incentivizing the average player to want to play as much as they can; yet every update has been doing the opposite. - Any one saying anything about better players should only play other better players doesnt realize how this drives more people out. I don't mind occasional sweat fests, but if every game is going to be drenched in sweat, there no fun there. Like before this only serves to skill creep the population and end result is the same as the cesspool that trials was be4 the update, where the only people who will play are the best of the best. -week one of trials was so good, it felt like og trials in D1, you know where matchmaking was random. of course your highly skilled players would breeze through it, but it also gave lesser skilled players a chance with a little bit of lucky matchmaking. Still confused why blowouts are the end all be all driving trials changes. -a system where the end game pvp mode punishes players for being good and gives away flawless to lesser players is the next step...and thats just pathetic.

                        Agreed horrible matchmaking. It would be like if you could only do a raid once a week or after you beat a GM nightfall that your power decreases by 20 each time. They killed any sense of replay value and the numbers show. Everything is down across the board including flawless sitting at an abysmal 11%. After my first flawless the games became incredibly sweaty. I can only imagine how it’s going for low skilled players grinding it out.

                          • Buddy, they are testing changes. You don’t need to have a tantrum over it, they’ll see from their data what the result of the test was. Trials was on life support due to not attracting enough players, it needed changes and Bungie is testing them.

                          • I honestly didn’t think it was going to be as bad as it is but it’s pretty terrible. This is my first season at really trying in trials and this is the first week I would consider my time in trials a waste of time. Now bet I will still try till Tuesday but my time will be limited. (Limited time is a me problem I get that ) I just can’t imagine how many people have more than a couple ours to play a game. I think last week was probably the best out of what was tried . I was able to play both solo and team went flawless Saturday and failed solo Sunday and Monday .

                              • They do actually have the population for sbmm. I don’t think sbmm would help the gamemode whatsoever only turn it into the sweaty version bad players don’t play and good players get super toxic over but we absolutely have enough people for it. I don’t find sbmm works on bad players tho, too many things they do blatantly wrong for mm to account for like never adapting to the team.

                                • They can't use SBMM for the flawless card system. It breaks it, moves it away from who's better in the total population to who's better in a small band of skill. The mode itself just doesn't work when trying to keep a large portion of the population engaged, doesn't matter how many different crappy angles they try to take. People get the rewards they want and get out, getting pub stomped just becomes demoralizing. The same bottom up player fade happens every time they trials starts up again. After losing, and losing, and losing to 3 stacks over and over feeding the machine I get the frustration a lot of people are feeling. There's not going to be any way around it though, not while Bungie has to keep the flawless system working.

                                  • And once more Trials is pure garbage. One more week with A LOT of bad matchmaking (most of the time against the same pre made team, which is clearly much more skilled than my team). The "matchmaking is really happening? Another week without pinnacle gear from Trials. In freelancer I was able to play. P.s. Your Battle Eye doesn't work. There's a lot of aimbots.

                                  • Lol looked at few of my games last night and same. Other team had 99%, 87%, 97% chance of winning. Those were 3 of the 4 games I played then said screw this. Just not fun. They just want the pool bigger so the top players/streamers can just farm us. I'm not good and very average, but why the hell would I consistently play the top %. Lots of us are experiencing it so why don't we get matched against eachother? It's like it's done on purpose. 3 stack top 5% against solo queues in bottom 40%...
