If you look at the vanguard class emblem, it's almost like it's missing something.
It has the titan, warlock, and hunter class emblems on them and then a 4th, almost just...space wasted slot.
Is Bungie just being lazy? Probably.
Perhaps it's just insurance in case the team decides to throw in a 4th class.
I like to think maybe they got something random in the back of their minds.
Food for thought...

Hmm. Maybe after a 300 year time skip after the light and dark saga is done we can get a new class. Should be a full blown Splicer class that allows you to summon constructs and machines of light and the class ability would let you create short range portals between two nearby points for your team and no I dont care how much this would break PvP because this would greatly enhance PvE with things like "Allied Supers do increased damage for 10 seconds after entering your portal" or "gain a small amount of Heavy ammo and reload your guns after entering portals." The class ability would have the longest cooldown compared to other classes and the super would be casting two Splicer gauntlets. The left one let's you grapple as a movement ability and the right one has a light attack that lashes enemies and a heavy attack that ensnares enemies, making them take a non-stacking 15% more damage from all sources and as allies damage the target you are healed. Great for boss phases. -
Back in the day there was always speculation that the space would be filled by a fourth class but that’s more or less been abandoned as a theory now. The likelihood is that the crest shape didn’t accommodate 3 classes with equal space for each so they just filled the last quarter in.

2 답변작성자: Black-Cat-Jinx 10/12/2021 10:54:49 AMThe hunter, the titan, the warlock, and the duality between darkness and light where they stand. The darkness isn't just the shadow tempting us with stupid frosty the snowman powers, we serve the light by walking in darkness. We fight. We kill. We go into dark places and leave them darker for the blood of our enemies spilled there. We serve the light, but we walk a path of darkness. The stripes symbolize the light and the dark that is our nature. I would argue that the best image to show guardians nature would be to show them walking a line between light and dark. The bright side casting a shadow of light into the darkness, while in equal parts the dark casting a shadow of darkness into the light. That is the place we stand.

My 2 cents. That shield design is a classic look. Divided into 4 spaces, and yet there are only 3 guardian classes. I think that blank space is intentionally blank. There won't be a 4th class. It's always been 3. Maybe blank space represents the others that aren't guardian classes. Or maybe it's just blank because the Vanguard is represented by 3 different classes. One of them passed away though and is not represented with a leader of their class. Vanguard has always been 3 represented by Zavala, Ikora, and Cayde. That's what it has always been for 7 years now. Just my thoughts.

Well in all honesty is was probably for the dark guardian thought. An I mean dark guardian. As in uses hive or taken like magic directly from the darkness or whatever the darkness is and used as an ability and so on. Not a light infused “dark power” that is nothing more than the ice/frost power that was asked for since destiny 1.

Maybe having the ‘blank’ part covered with stripes represents what we’re fighting for in an all-encompassing way Like the US flag has 13 stripes for the original 13 colonies. It could represent the various habitable planets that were colonized during the golden age. Maybe philosophical tenets they abide by. Maybe the citizenry. Stuff like that
